Do a factory reset to this set. It will clear all wrong settings, and the TV will come ON with its factory set mode. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Remove the portafilter, screw, screen and diffuser in group, and if the water is still not coming out then it is blocked at the metering jet above the grouphead, you will see a small U shaped hose connected to a square box there. Metering jet is on the top of box under the fitting. Unplug machine turn of water. You will need a 14mm open end wrench in memory serves me right, it might be 17mm. Carefully remove U tube both ends. Then check the small orifice in the middle it might be covered by a small screen, try not to damage screen unless you have a replacement. If that is clear, we will look at the black box connected to the side of the square. That is your solenoid valve it might be blocked. Using 14mm wrench remove dischage, then nut, slide off black box. Notice where the silver long part connects to the brass, there is a big nut. You will need a crescent or a 24mm open end wrench. Remove slowly there is a plunger in there it only fits one way. Check the 2 holes in the brass piece make sure the middle is clear or turn water valve on and make sure water flies out of there, be careful it might have alot or pressure if not blocked.
You`ve mentioned that ON CERTAIN CHANNELS THE TV WORKS FINE, so your trying to say that not all channels THE BLACK SQUARE APPEARS IN THE MIDDLE O THE SCREEN... my be that black square is generated from the broadcast center. may be your unit is good. let me ask you how many channels that your tv works fine..?
there should be a button on your remote that adjusts the picture to fit your screen. They have that on most tv's. Are you using a cable box? your cable box also has settings depending on what your using. 1080i, 720p? does it do the same thing with a dvd player or game console hooked up?
The small pcb that is hook up to that middle crt (lamp as you call it) should be pushed up tight on to the crt (also called green pichure tube). The wires that are on that small board should also be pushed on to make sure they are seated tightly. If none of this works, then take to a repair shop.
