The shutter is opening and closing continuously when the camera is turned on. Also it says Turn the power off and on again and will not go any further. What do I do?

i could be that the rechargeable batter is weak. try replaceing the battery for a new one. also check that the connections for the battery are clearn.

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. The slightly open shutter is the reason for this problem. Thank God you mentioned it.
Solution: Try with your fingers to shift the shutter “blades” back and forth to see if they move freely. If they do no move freely it maens the shutter “blasdes” and stuck by particles/dust/something. So you just continue to shift them like that untill they are free again. Once they are free turn your camera back on and it should perform as normal.

I dropped the camera and now the shutter opens when turning off & closes when I open the camera. But when it is open, the shutter will open a bit making it impossible to take pictures. What should I do or where do I take it for repairs?

Lines across your pictures or pictures too bright are due to the shutter not closing correctly or at all.
to check this- turn camera on, turn off flash, turn camera around and look into the lens. Adjust the zoom so that the shutter and internal lens comes up to the end of the lens and whatch as you take a picture. You should see the shutter close completely over the lens. If it doesn't move or does not close over completely then there is your problem.
If camera was dropped it could have jammed the shutter open or obstructed it in some way from closing completely.
camera will require repair/ service.
You may have some luck if you power up and down your camera numerous times before taking a picture. The action of the lens opening and closing may free the shutter.

Sounds like you might have accidentally pressed the DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. It turns the screen on and off to save batteries. Turn on your camera, and press this button once again to turn the screen back on.

a few weeks ago i dropped my camera in the sea and i thought, ****. i was in the same boat, so i opened the shutter myself and turned on the camera and it works and takes pictures but the shutter wont close again so if you can make sure you have no dirt in your lense and you can manually open the shutter yourself it may work and if it stops turning on all together keep charging it and once it goes green turn the switch off and on again until it always turns green then it should work again.

I would try taking the battery out and waiting a minute and then reinserting the battery. Another option you have is to try and reinitialize the camera, but you would need access to the settings menu on the camera and it doesen't sound like you do. To initialize the camera go to main settings 1 and choose initialize. If this doesn't work I would bring it to an authorized service center to have it looked at.
