When you put the game in, after it clicks hold it down and do not let go. turn on your ds and see if it reads it. If it doesn't, check the pins in the slot 1 slot and maybe just put some water on a q-tip and wipe them gently. If it reads when you hold it down maybe just tape it that way or something. Check the game also to see if there are scratches on the gold part. If this all doesn't work then I am out of solutions. Or you could send it to nintendo because if they can't fix it, you get a new DS.

okay all you will need to do is un skrew the back and where the battery is there is this hole and you will need to take a q-tip and put some water with some dish cleaner and put the q-tip in the hole and move it around and it will work just fine...
if it says no game inserted and theres a game in the slot,

your cartridge SLOT 1 connector is bad!, those 2 things sticking out are called "pins" where the game card makes contact with the D, u need to get it replaced, u could buy it on Ebay, search for "SLOT 1 ds" it's around $10-15 if u know how to fix electronics, .... u will need to solder it!... if u have warranty, send to Nintendo, or a repair shop!
calibrate the touch screen ....start your ds with no game in it and click on the small ds at the bottom of the screen, next ,touch the yellowbox on the right and follow the calibration instructions.......if you cant get it to work then change the touch screen......good luck
You turn off your DS, take your game out & blow on the game cartrige and where the game actually goes INTO the DS.If this doesn't help, leave toyr DS for a few days and try the blowing again. Hope this helps
try blowing into the part you put the game in, it seems to work for me, and many people have this problem.
Turn the ds off
Take your games out
Blow in the part where you put your games in, not to much...
put your games back in, and turn the ds on again, it should regognise it, if it dosn't then it might be the game
