Hi Mirage 1

Can you measure the diameter of the platter pully. This is the best way to get the right belt for your T/T. If you get the diameter, you can call to most any Specialist HiFi shop, and they will have a belt for you. You can also order on online. Let me know what diameter you need and I will help you find a source.

Ok Paul, no worries. Glad you got it sorted. The thanks for trying vote is generally used in "thanks, but I dont need your kind of help" situations, well it is to us experts at least. It has depreciated my hard earned overall ranking in FixYa,so was hoping that you could upgrade me...:) Cheers:)

How do I connect this system together to get it to work?

The manual for the amplifier and all the other units are here. Use the search feature in the top right with just the model number 'AT-5210'. Getting the items in the right order helps. The turntable obviously goes on top. The Amplifier goes in the middle and all the other units connect to the amp.

Check on ebay for that tt and maybe someone has parts listed. Or try the manufacturer but if a unit is more than ten years old parts are usually no longer available.

Aai have the following AKAI Audio Stereo System and no Idea how to connect them. Please help Akai Model AP-D210 turntable Akai model CS-F14 Stereo cassette deck Akai model AT-K110 Fm Am Tuner Akai...

In general, outs to ins.

If nothing else, get the manuals for the preamp and the EQ. You'll probably have to pay for them.

Google it.

Akai PR-A04 preamplifier << This is the control center and where everything comes together.

Akai AP-D210 turntable (ONLY to jacks that say "PHONO"
Akai EA-G40 Stereo Graphic Equalizer (in the Tape 1 Out/In set)
Akai CS-F14 Stereo cassette deck (in the Tape Out/In set of the EQUALIZER) *
Akai AT-K110 Fm Am Tuner (to the Tuner inputs)
Akai DT-100 Audio Tuner (to the Aux inputs)
Akai PA-W04 Amplfier (to the amp outputs)

* This will allow you to Equalize the Tape on the Record or the Playback side.

Read some audio magazines or websites. Get to understand Tape Monitor Loops.

Don't use excessive EQ.

Rubber band for Akai semi automatic turntable APX1 needs replacing. Where can I buy one in NZ?

Are you sure you have an Akai APX1? I've never known Akai to make turntables. I think you mean AIWA - yes, there is a MAJOR difference.

For the Aiwa APX1 model, you can purchase the belt HERE.

Have akai ap-b110 turntable needs belt. Can you tell me the length/specs

  • If you have the turntable belt:
    • State the type of belt used (Flat, Square, Round).
    • Pinch both ends of the belt.
    • Measure the pinched length.
    • Multiply the pinched length by two (2x).
    • If the turntable uses a Flat belt, measure its width (usually 0.187").
    • If the turntable uses a Round or Square belt, measure its thickness.
    • Please include the make and model of the turntable with the belt's measurements.
  • If you do NOT have the turntable belt or it is shredded:
    • State the type of belt that the turntable uses (Flat, Round or Square).
    • Use a piece of string to tightly follow the belt's path.
    • Measure the length of the string.
    • Measure the width between the rims of the motor pulley that the belt can pass through (usually 0.250 inch).
    • Please include the make and model of the turntable with the belt's measurements.

How to remove platter from AKAI AP-B110 turntable

On my Akai turntable, I have to remove the fiberboard bottom cover (nine screws, nothing tricky) then there's a central brass air bearing with a small set-screw in the side. Loosen the screw, and the central turntable axle lifts right out of the bearing.

This is a belt-drive Akai - your mileage may vary.
