I have a Toshiba NB200 and I would hardly shut it down. Yesterday, I was downloading something, which I hardly do, and since I have Norton AntiVirus it said it was ok to download it. But then it started saying that it would block viruses. Then I wasn't able to see my task bar so I couldn't restart it. So I forced it to shut down and once I turned it on it wouldn't boot anymore. It would only go to the leading innovation and then turn black with a blinking underscore. I would try F12 and F2 but nothing worked. I tried taking the battery out and leaving in to rest. Then I tried charging it for hours but nothing helped. Also, my laptop doesn't have a CD drive so I can't put CD's...What should I do?

Norton is known to cause such issues. Remove Norton, use Avira AntiVir as your antivirus and Windows Firewall as your firewall. Download the latest Internet Explorer here.

You might have download the fake norton antivirus, some can be viruses. People on the internet do that to infect computer so it might be a virus u download and not the official norton antivirus.

Ok then i guess you should try repairing the NORTON by running the installation again and choosing the reapir option or the next option is to use another anti virus.

you can visit www.avast.com/eng/programs.html and download avast! 4 home edition free edition.
please restart your pc before installing the avast.
after installing try updating and schedule a boot scan by

1. cutting and pasting this "W62911071H4800A1106-PJY5XRR5" when prompted for the registration key.
2. click on the menu icon at the top left of the avast window.
3. click on "schedule a boot scan" and restart your pc

Norton 360 has the entire norton protection suite built into it. On top of the firewall, phishing protection, and e-mail protection it also has norton antivirus built right into it. So yes, you have to uninstall antivirus to install 360, but 360 just installs antivirus again. If you ever decide to go back to using just antivirus you can simply redownload it off their web site.
