That's very vague. If you bought it at best buy, you shouldn't need a receipt for the warranty. They store it in the computer by your telephone number. Good luck!

Lost sound in speakers, but sound will play with earphones.

That means one thing.

Your speaker is broken but lucky for you, the driver is still intact.

You can bring your laptop to your nearest repair shop and ask them to replace the speaker. It happens. A lot. Maybe due to prolonged used or low quality audio played with high volume, or it can be something else but changing to a new one can assure you that sounds can be played through the speaker again.

Either one of it or both are broken but they count the speaker as a unit. So, good luck.

How do i reset a locked BIOS password on a Sony VAIO FS840W notebook?

Proof of purchase in extremely reasonable. How would you likeit if someone stole your machine and it was easy to break into your bank details?
Did you pay by credit card? Use that as proof of purchase.
The only way is through your Sony Service Centre.

My internal hdd failed on this so i bought a new one but whenever i try to reinstall vista or windows 7 it freezes during the beginning of the setup. Iv tried 6 different OS discs and two different...

So, the system originally had Vista. So, we can assume that the hardware can handle Vista/7.

I now wonder if what caused your disk to die, may have large consequences. Try running a stand alone operating system. For example, you can use Knoppix which runs on one CD without the hard disk.

This will help you determine if the machine has other problems. If you can get to the desktop of Knoppix, your machine is likely ok. If you want to check the harddisk, You can install Knoppix on the harddisk. If that works, there is something wrong with your hardware configuration. Write back so that I can help more.

I removed the battery on my acer last night and when I turned it back on it went to system repair. It has been repairing for 12 hours now. What is wrong with it.

For me... This has nothing to do with your battery.... Don't worry about the battery... Sometimes, the computer runs the system repair as there is something wrong with your driver and operating system.... The system repair normally fix whatever it can on your computer.... The running time maybe from a few minutes, few hours and also for a long time... so, just bear with it.... it will be back to normal soon....

Acer aspire broken screen

This should be a warranty (Acer) issue and they will be the only ones that may fix it for free. That said, I have never heard of a display breaking/cracking without mishandling?

Laptop Key repair

I am not sure if BestBuy is authorized to repair Dell systems, but if they will take it, then they should be able to fix it. The fix will depend on the nature of the problem. If the key is simply poped out in some way, they may be able to re-attach it on the spot. If not, they will likely have to order the keyboard part from Dell, open up the notebook (or remove the keyboard) and replace it. On some computers this is easier than others. Most commercial lines of notebooks allow the keyboard to be replaceed easily by the end user without opening the case at all - just undo some latches and remove some screws, pop it out, pop the new one in, screw it down and latch it in. Some consumer systems (Inspiron is a consumer line) are not so well designed. It all depends.

Either way, BestBuy should be able to repair it. If you check with Dell first, you may find that you can even repair it yourself if it is designed to be a "user replaceable" part as i describe above.

Vista Upgrade from H/ Premium to Ultimate

I would contact Best Buy directly and let them know your situation. Usually they will honor stuff like this within the first 30 days of purchase.
