This older model Kennmore dryer did not automatically stop it's heating cycle last night; it went for hours until I thought I smelled something burning and shut if off. It was so hot to the touch, I would have burned my hand if I had hand on for ovr a second.
I need to know what part to buy; a timer?, an element, etc.

Hi, It sounds like maybe a motor over heating. If you can use it one load and try to restart it, and nothing happens, wait one hour and try again. If it starts, it is probably the motor. Does any of this sound like your simptoms?
