This happened last night we left it unplugged all night and I tried it again this morning to no avail. Its pretty new only about 2 weeks old so I am just going to return it I think. There must be something wrong with the actual unit itself.

  • pbriscoe Jul 08, 2008

I have same model. HWR08CX7. I bought it yesterday. After installing into the window , and plugging in, it performed the self-check. Then it started up, ran for about 5-8 seconds and shut off. It would not start at all after that. The green light is lit on the plug. I have tried tripping and resetting the plug, let it sit overnight, but to no avail. I called Haier customer service and they told me to return it to the store. I exchanged it today. I took the new one home and plugged it in. It worked fine. Then I put it in the window and it will not start. I called customer service again. The only thing I could think of was that the electrical cord was compressed out of the unit. The unit sits on the cord in the window. I have taken it out of the window, unpluggged it,waited the 3-5minutes customer service said to then tried again - out of the window. It will not start. Surely there is something that will work. This is 2 units (same model) in 2 days.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.IT WILL NOT START AND SHOWS ON THE DISPLAY E1. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING SUGGESTED.

Unit went off and will not come back on. Has an E1 code on it. Have had it about 2 months. Of course it's late at night and the temperature outside is about 100. I am so disappointed in this unit.

It may have overheated or just the oposit, it could have froze. Eitherway there are sensors that will shut off the unit if these conditions exsist. I suggest waiting a while and trying again. Unplug the unit while you wait.

If this does not work your problem is probably more complicated. I would then start by checking any onboard fuses. If you are not knowledgeable about electricity or handy with appliances I suggest hiring a technician.

R60 Wont Charge

What's the make and model of your laptop? Most times the flashing lights will tell what the issue is.

If the laptop will not boot up so you can use it then the things below applies.

Sounds like your power cord is bad. Or the DC Jack is not soldered on good. Just because the power cord is new does not mean it works. Some Power Cords have a little green light on the adapter to show that it is plugged into the wall and getting power, check yours.

Anything ever post to the screen when you hit the power button? Do the fans start up, the hard drive spins? If not, maybe your power cord has enough power to emit a light but not enough to start the fan or disk drive.

If it's not the power cord or dc jack, then you have a Memory or Video Card issue.

OK after reading your post a 2nd time I think your only issue is that the battery is not charging, correct? If that is true the things below applies:

Either the battery is bad or the power cord is bad. Just because they are new don't mean they work. See if the Adapter portion of the power cord has a green indicator light that comes on when you plug it to an outlet. If it does, and that light is not on the power cord has issues. Also I hope you did not buy one of those one size fits all power cords from the big box stores where the end has a bag of different interchangable parts until you find one that fits into the laptop. If so, buy a power cord off ebay that is made for your laptop.

The battery might be bad and not hold a charge. I have seen new batteries that did not work.

Printer wont switch on

Try to plug the printer into a different known working power outlet in the wall. Bypass any power surge devices or power strips - these tend to draw away power from the printer.

Toshiba Satellite L300 Will not start

I have had a this few times... what happens is the Contacts on the Socket for the power supply comes away from the Motherboard. Subsequently, it will not charge, nor power on... & then the battery gets so flat that it stops it all from working... You will have to get it repaired, it is a bit of a mission. & sometimes the damage done to the Motherboard precludes repair. So get a firm "Quote" from a reputable service center/man.

Blinking green light front and back. Clicking sound from inside.

Do you mean the little green LED light near where you plug the power cable into the back of the computer? If that's the blinking light then unfortunately, this means that power is getting to the power supply but it is not going from the Power Supply to the Motherboard/Devices. The power supply is broken and is not converting the power from the wall to the proper voltage for the Motherboard/Devices. You will have to replace the power supply.

Call HP, and I hope you are in warranty and get it replaced for free or you can order the exact same one from HP that originally comes with that model. 1-800-HP-INVENT for their tech support line.

2Wire 473 router problem

Take the modem and plug it into a GFCI outlet. You can find one in the bathroom or the kitchen.

If the power light comes on solid green and the dsl comes on red then the modem is good. Was it plugged into a power strip by the computer? If so, plug it straight into a wall outlet.

If the power light comes on solid red then the modem has hardware failure. I would contact your ISP and have them replace it if it is still underwarranty.

Pc won't power ( turn on)

The green light is most likely your lan card/port. If the cord/outlet are sparking when you plug it in, I would say try plugging something else into that socket, if you get the same spark, I'd call an electrician. Also try plugging the pc into a different outlet. As far as the computer, if its not the outlet then it is the power supply, your motherboard may be fried in the process but if this isn't an issue with that outlet, then you should take it in to a shop.

No power

Unplug All External Devices Unplug the AC Adapter From the Wall Outlet. Disconnect the AC Adapter From the Laptop Reseated the power cable to the adapter.
Remove the Battery Connect the AC Adapter Directly to a Known Good Outlet, But Not to the Computer Verify That the AC Power Adapter Has a Solid Green or Blue Light.
The AC adapter status light is solid green. The AC adapter status light is solid green.Press the Power Button and Check for POST. Post means if you see the dell logo, remove the battery, plug the ac if still it wont turn on or doesnt have any light,Reseat the Memory if after reseatting the memory still the same problem it might be a bad motherboard.
