My samsung tv tx-t2782 played fine all day today and then the tv just shut off by itself. When I turned the tv back on, the entire picture was wavy. Now it only stays on for 10 seconds and then it will shut off by itself. The red light will not come back on unless I unplug the tv and then plug it in again. What could be the problem? I bought this tv 8 months ago!

We have the same TV and this has happened twice. The first time, the authorized Samsung TV service center replaced the entire inner workings of the set. The second time we called the repairman directly and we were told this is a chronic condition for this model - evidently Samsung has had so much trouble with this model they are no longer repairing the sets; instead, they will provide a brand new TV to anyone who has owned this model for less than 18 months. In short, Samsung made a real piece of ****!

I was told by my repairman that the motherboard was bad.And is on backorder,6 to 8 weeks. They are in the process of replacing it through SAMSUNG. Apparently this model is a LEMON! I am glad I have a 5yr. warranty, finally it paid for itself. I am always leary of buying extended warranties, it seams like gamble. In this case it was worth it !!!!

All of a sudden no power.TV will not turn on using the power button on the console or the remote.

Unplug TV from power. Remove the back of the TV enclosure by removing all screws. Slide the side pieces off. Follow the power cord to where it connects to the circuit board. Immediately to the left is a 5 amp fuse in a snap in holder. Remove and replace with the same type of fuse (250V 5 amp fuse). Plug power cord in and wait 5 seconds. Try power button on either TV or remote. Reassemble TV enclosure.

Samsung Dlp completely shuts off and then all three lights flash

Sounds more like the TV is overheating. The lamp cooling fan may be seized or not spinning fast enough. If the TV gets hot enough to trip the thermal, it could rupture the lamp.

Shut off

Does it shut off immediately after turning on? How long after it has been on does it shut off? Can it be turned back on immediately or is there a "cooling" period where you have to wait before it can be powered.

Is this a TV under warranty or is it out of warranty? If in warranty, simply contact RCA and they should help you out.

TV powers off after an hour or so

Hi Chuck, intermittents will definitely try your patience, It`s obvious the problem is with a poor solder connection or loose plug/connection. It would help immensely if you would tell us make and model number of the set. From your description I would unplu AC cord flip the main board over, get a bright light and a magnifying glass and start checking your solder connections, I`ll bet you have several, check closely low voltage power supply area (where your AC cord attatches to the set) and the high voltage area where the flyback is (large plastic part with large red or black wire coming out of the top), your looking for connections that are cracked or dull grey (overheated) solder, if you need more help keep asking thats what were here for, good luck, BMW Rider
