Question about Compaq Computers & Internet
I just got a vista laptop not even 3 months ago and i have another hdd w/ vista on it that i want to install xp on. when i boot the xp install disk, it says it cant detect my hdd, but when i reboot it without the xp cd in it, vista loads up fine
I regret to inform you that it is not possible to install XP in the HP or Compaq Notebooks which are shipped with the Vista Operating System. To install XP in your notebook, you need to disable SATA option from the BIOS . I am afraid that there is no SATA disable option the BIOS. Hence, it is not possible to install XP in the notebook.
I understand some of the softwares are not compatible with Vista operating system. But, if you insall Vista SP1 in your notebook. You can also use the software which were not compatible with Vista, after installing Vista SP1.
