Question about Toshiba TZ55V61 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Resetting power When I power the T.V. on it clicks twice and then the red power light begins flashing. We have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in but it continues to do the same thing.

I have the same symptoms. It seems ironic, though, that this happened during a time when my city was digging a new sewer line, cut my cable line, patched it, then damaged it once again. No other TVs in the house were affected, no other electrical devices.

I, too, have tried unplugging the TV - overnight - with the same blinking LED results.

Are there any reliable online stores to inexpensively purchase a new power supply?

I think your problem is actually simple enough, but may require proffessional service, depending on your fundamental skills with electronics. It sounds most likely that your power supply is bad. This would explain why this happens at the begginning and not later on. You see, once the transisters are warmed up, it is not so demanding on thepower supply. You may want to have it proffessionaly done, which may cost about 300-400 dollars. This is a good tv set, so it may be worth it to you, but I would suggest you look around at replacement costs and determine if you want to gamble with it. Good luck.

Panasonic cinemavision 1080i power light blinks red twice, will not turn on

The clicking sound is a safety device that prevents that TV from starting because a fault has been detected.

The fault is also indicated by the two blinks. Two blinks point at a problem with one of the low voltage lines (it should be 15V) from the power supply. The PSU is the part to be tested and eventually replaced. Before calling the technician try to unplug the power cord and leave the TV to rest for about one hour before restarting.

TV won't turn on when push power button red light flashes

You can unplug the tv for 1 minute and then plug it back in since you have a red light you know it is getting power, also don't plug it into a surge protector when trying this. If the tv still has a flashing red light a service center will need to repair the tv, replacing more than likely the power supply or small signal board.

TV will not turn on. Red light flashes 4 times

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

I plug in the t.v. and get nothing, just an audible click like the set is trying to turn on, then the red power light is flashing on the front

Try unplugging and replugging the cables of the TV. If the issue persists then the projection lamp of the TV is required to be replaced.

When turned on a red light flashes and the tv will not come on

Please try to get the model number from a sticker on rear of set. Also, if your tv has writing around the red flashing light, let us know what that says.
