Usually you have to replace the whole motor and yes you need to do so.

Bosch Classixx 1200 Express replaced worn brushes correctly, now motor doesnt turn. Motor got extremely hot and was popping and sparking prior to brush replacement. Is there a thermal cut out on the motor?...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I know that it's not exactly what you were hoping to hear/see but what follows is my (pre-typed) advice to others about washer motors possibly failing. I will understand if you do not wish to score this.

It does sound as if the motor requires replacement.
Now, a word or two of advice; it might be suggested that just the brushes on the motor want changing; experience (of others) suggests that they may only last months rather than many years UNLESS the motor itself is refurbished. Refurbishment includes skimming the commutator on which the brushes run. Without skimming the brushes do not sit cleanly on the com, often causing excessive sparking and excessive wear on BOTH. Alternately a new motor! I changed the motor (and belt) on our 19+ year-old Bosch at a cost of GBP250 ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Bosch axxis washer does not spin; stopped spinning. It worked well for about 8 years, but always had a weird noise, since the machine was brought from the store; my guess is that some piece that kept being...

If you go to BSH home appliances website and follow link to spares you can put in the model number (Enr should start with a W. example WFL2065gb/01) and get the part diagram. I would imagine that it would be the brushes on the motor, there can be replaced but remeber to clean the armiture (copper below where brushes touch in position) lightly with a very fine piece of glass paper. you have said it is not spinning but do you really mean there is no motor action. ie not doing slow turns on the wash cycle? If only not spinning it could be a drainage problem. Hope this helps.

Water comes in but will not begin to wash

hi there......this problem is usually related to badly worn brushes in the motor...a quick way to check this is.....(1) remove the machine from its position...bringing it foward enough to tilt it back sufficiently allowing you access to the botom of the machine...(2) insect the motor for signs of black carbon dust...indicating brush ware....gently tap the motor with a small hammer...or suitable object....stand the machine uright machine....if all is ok machine will run indicating a set of replacement carbon brushes are required....failure to run indicates brushes very badly worn and possibility of damaged motor...remove the rear panel of the machine...remove the belt...remove the motor for inspection..of armature and brushes...any burn or discolouring marks on the copper brush track...indicates a failed motor..which will require replacing....

Washer fills and drains but does not agitate or spin.

all front loaders have two motor brushes, The motor brushes are carbon and generally have a life span of 4-5 years with daily use. When these carbons wear down they make less contact with the motor armiture and need to be changed. For a service engineer this takes approx 15-20 mins and the parts cost approx €30-€60 in europe depending on the model. Melee and Beko tend to be the most expensive (But Melee brushes are far superior quality)

How to release new carbon brushes in their holder

All carbon brushes have an electric wire attatched to them, that needs to be gently praised off (make sure the machine is unplugged from electrical outlet), then using a flat headed screw driver, push in the clip that is holding the brush in place and at the same time gently pull the carbon brush up.

To replace the brush, simply push it back into its slot (but gently and carefully because it can snap) until you hear a click then replace the electric wire.

If you have left the rubber band on the brush when you inserted it back into it's holder, simply cut the band at the top and very gently pull it up until it is removed.

No spinning

It sounds as if your motor has blown. The easiest way to check this is to view the carbon motor brushes. You may find them worn but also there will be signs of arcing on the metal brush holder. If this has happened, the field coil has usually gone 'open circuit' and a replacement motor is the only solution.

Zanussi aquacycle 1400 fle 1416w started to make an electric arking noise when spinning now. Now it has stopped spinning. Will the motor be dead or will it just be the carbon bushes that need replacing....

Hiya Cheap6... more than likely the brushes.. which are easily checked to see if they are worn down.. otherwise its a new or RE-con motor.

LE code, Unplugged but machine doesn't want to spin properly

your unit doesn't have brushes, the problem is the hall sensor, which is located on the stator. Have this replaced and your problems will go away. Insure you are using 'HE' branded detergent as well.
