Paper jamming and twisting

The most likely cause of the problem is an obstruction on the left side of the paper path - most likely a shred of paper from a previous jam. You can estimate where to look by how far the paper goes in before it starts to twist to the side. Sometimes I've had to use a dental pick to snag a shred buried deep inside as an alternative to dismantling the printer. You may find it helpful to use a small mirror to look underneath or behind rollers while you search for the culprit.

Another possibility is one side of a dual pickup roller (two rollers on a single shaft) is worn out. That is unlikely; except for large format units most printers use a single pickup roller.

sounds like something jamed in the rollers like a pin etc

Clear jam, if not already done so.

Cheap paper will and does cause jams a lot, like me spend a little more for quality. Not too much!

When placing in tray hold amount of paper in your hands and twist and wiggle, this has the effect of seperating the paper sheets that and do stick together. The more wriggling the better chances of paper running free. But rem, jams do happen even with better grades of paper.

Finally, have a good look at the front of the printer rollers for tiny bits of paper that you might not at first to see?

If this is happening from the paper tray, you probably could use a new set of rollers for the tray. Also, have you had any paper jams where when you cleared the jam there was some paper missing? We have seen useres clear jams and leave a little bit of paper in the printer which blocks the paper path causing the paper to twist in the path as it hits the jam piece of paper. If the jam is a little after the pickup area you could have a bad registration assembly which is immediately before the area where the paper picks up the image. If this is happening at the exit, it could be a bad fusing assembly.

You might try heavier weight paper.

Also, be sure to fan the paper prior to seating it.

It's also possible that a previous jam may not have been completely cleared and there is stuck paper jamming new paper.

Hi. It's hard to say without more details, but two things come up quickly to mind. 1) is the paper only meant to be printed on one side? Some are, and should indicate so (i.e. 'load this side up'). 2) the paper is goofed up (bent, flexed, twisted, loosened up, etc.) by the first printing and therefore is getting jammed.
I'd suggest changing brand of paper and / or be very careful loading, as this seems like a pretty regular paper jam situation.

Had the same problem - it read as a paper jam first, then as a carriage jam. After a bit of playing around, I took the back panel off and manually feed a piece of A4 card (something solid) while rebooting it, it seemed to have cleared then and now is working fine.

there were may situation that can help with this trouble,

1- try to see if the trays are seated correctly no bend or twisted
2- try to check the quality of your paper no concave nor convex ( like U or N)
3- clean the feed roller from either side by moistened cloth, ( only on one direction evenly
4- ensure no hindrance on the paper path inside the machine
5- reset the unit once more

My ip4300 was pulling the paper in toward the right and then it would crnkle the paper and jam. I tried all the cleaning techniques I could find suggested on the web. I called my grandson, who used to work on printers, and he suggested using sandpaper to roughen up the feed rollers (two on the right side when facing the printer.. a large and a small). So, I first used some #100 sandpaper to roughen the rollers, but that did not fix the problem. I then used some #60 sandpaper, then used a damp cloth to clean the rollers after roughing them up and then dried them with a dry rag. My printer now works beautifully! If nothing else works, you may want to try this—it's what my grandson said they did at the shop he worked at.

The machine had never given trouble before, only this time when a new person was using it. So, figuring they may have refilled the paper tray incorrectly, I took out the paper guides at the back and kept hand feeding one sheet at a time. After each jam up I had to reset everything but after about 7-8 tries "something" cleared and now it works fine.
