L3 Error Code - Mirror Return Fault.

I would suggest checking for broken belt to mirror, and mirror alignment.

Sharp m355n error code L3-00

L3-00 means that the scanner (the light under the glass) isnt moving correctly. You can reset it by pressing clear, interupt,0, interupt, 14,1, start button. Good luck

I got an error code L3-00 on my Sharp AR-M237 can help you.

The L3-00 means that the scanner is not in home position. You can try turning off the machine and unplug it for a minute or so and then turn it on. If that doesn't work you can take off the glass and cleaning the rails the the scanner slides on and then put a slight and I mean slight layer of lubrication on the rails like ATF.

I have a AR-287 with a L3-00 code and need to reset to see if it is fixed. No service in this area.

L3-00 means that the copy lamp assembly underneath the glass is not moving properly. 2 possible causes. The motor that drives it is burned out (very common) or some of the white pulleys that the lamp assembly is driven by have gone bad (also common, check for small ball bearings in the area under the glass) The reset code is : "P",interupt,"C", interupt, 1,4, start button, 1 or "yes", then press the "ca" button.

What does error code L3-00 mean? the copier will print from a network computer, but it won't photocopy.

This can be caused by a problem with the document scanning mirror base not returning to its home position in time.

Lift the document feeder and observe the movement of the mirror unit, under the platen glass. (Cycle the power switch, and watch it during start up).

You may see it is stuck. This can be caused by dirty rails, or the drive cables have stretched and fallen off the pulleys.
There are high voltages under the glass...

Safety note-
If you are not competant at fixing copiers, you should get a technician to fix this.

The L6 code is flashing on my copier

No you can't, it is the polygon motor not rotating. It is inside of the Laser unit. You should replace the polygon motor. The part code is RMOTN0028QSZZ. It will cost you about US$ 80

I turned the copier off completely, then turned it back on -- it seemed to resolve the L3-00 issue.

I have an error code of L3-00 on my Sharp AR 168D. Can you help.

L3-00 indicates scan carriage motor trouble. The carriage with all the mirors on it is not moving at all (scanning) or is not moving at the required speed so it does not reach its "home" position. If restarting the copier does resolve the issue....
A few things to check... When you turn copier on does carriage move at all? if not then the motor could be bound up (not turning) - also make sure the cables pulling the carriage are properly wound. remove the main glass and make sure there are no obstructions in the way of the carriage (a loose cable maybe or dirt) can you move the cable by hand freely? if the motor locks up it could be really hard to move the carriage.
The carriage seems to be moving freely (by hand and when you turn the copier on) it could possibly be the "home position" sensor that is faulty and not reading the correct position of the carriage.
You can the copier in test mode to check either the motor or sensor. press the following keys one after the other # * C * then press start/enter , press 1 and start/enter again, sub code 1 will test the motor and sub code 2 will test the sensor.
So it could be a bad motor or sensor or the MCU board that drives the motor (or may just need a good cleaning).
Good Luck.

Sharp AR 507 has a code L3-00 Scanner will not retun home in time

It could be the Mirror Home Position Sensor malfunction, it's located at the upper left section of the upper frame, if the copy lamp is in its home position, there's a lever/part of the copy lamp that actuated this photo sensor. Try clean that tiny gap with a hand blower, if L3 still occur then you should change it.
