Does the power light turn orange or red for half a second when you plug in the charger then turn off? Is that the ONLY activity you can get?

Then...
Fuse F1 and/or F2 is blown on the board. Easy fix if you have the tools and know how to solder.

My nintendo DS will not work when i place my ds card inside and the game is not there

Try turning your DS power off then let it cool down for a few minutes. Before that take the game out. When you've let it cool down for a few minutes put the DS game back in and see if it has worked.

When I turn on my ds the game just paused. What can I do?PLEASE HELP ME!!! =)

The game might have just frozen. Hold the power button down on your DS until it turns off, then turn it back on. Should be fine then.

My DS power

How long have you had that battery in your DS? The more you use (play and charge) the battery, the battery's capacity is decreased. Try getting a new battery at,

or

DS lite

I'd suggest removing and then re-inserting the battery (this should at least switch the power off).
Is the power switch loose? If so it's been broken and needs replacing (not an easy job).
Alternately it could just be stuck in sleep mode which happens when the DS is closed while powered on but should awaken when re-opened.
