Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

Open Question

Honeywell T8011R thermostat

The thermostat display suddenly went blank today. We haven't lost any power and we checked to make sure there wasn't a fuse blown. We can't get the heat or the fan to come on at all. We have the same unit upstairs and traded the units out. Both units will work upstairs but neither will work downstairs. If you can help that we be great as it is hot here and our Home Warranty company can't get anyone out until late tomorrow.

We have the same problem exactly. Does anyone know if this is battery operated or not?

No display on T8011R. No power outage, no breakers tripped. We have two units and both work when connected to the upstairs plate.

Hello, first you must verify if you are getting 24 volts to the tstat at the secondary side of the transformer, if not you have a bad transformer. If you are getting 24 volts then check the batteries in the thermostat.

T8011r thermostat doesnt have a display, fuse is not blown out and it suddenly stopped working

Here is a link for the owner's manual. It gives several suggestions for the cause of the display being blank. Check those and let me know if that helps.

Check the control board in your unit. There's a fuse on it. Either a small glass "buss" style or a flat blade style, like you find in a car.

Check for either an in-line fuse in the heating unit or a fuse on the control board also in the heating unit.

Battery backup?

which model do you have ? the 8000/8001 or 8011 the set is different depending on your type of heating system. This model has a memory chip not a battery that saves your settings. So you could be looking at replacing the unit.
