Hello! I guess you cannot download a video from your Sony DCR-TRV22 to iMovie not unless you have to capture it first.
if you gonna capture a movie from your handy cam you need an appropriate software and then load it to iMovie so you can edit or whatever things you want to do with it. And be sure that the extension file name of the movie is .avi, cause it is how iMovie could read it.
