I just got an oil change less than 3 weeks ago and today my engine starts knocking and my oil light is on, could that be a bad O2 sensor?

No Bad o2 But Check oil Level. How old Was The oil That Came Out? Fresh oil Will Clean Out Sludge Deposits If The oil Was'nt Changed In A Timely Manor It could Have caused leaks. also Check Drain Plug Gasket for leaks And Make Sure Oil Filter Is Correct And Tight.

My 1998 trailblazer has started leaking oil from filter area. what do I need to address first. engine was recently replaced.

Assume this is a 4.3-first, make sure the filter is on tight (it happens)-not knowing how bad the leak is, I would check to see if the oil pressure sender unit is there (that is usually close to where they locate them, and they do leak). If it seems to be coming from where the filter is spun onto the block, remove the filter and make sure the old gasket from the last filter did not get stuck onto the block, then the new filter got installed over top of it (it happens too). If these do not pan out, the oil filter adapter (housing that holds the oil filter) may need to be removed and the gasket replaced.

My oil filter housing leaks really bad. What can i do?

First thing is to make sure the oil filter gasket is on and that only one is on it and not two. You want to make sure the oil filter is sealed properly to the oil filter housing first because this too can cause oil to leak. This can be a common mistake. Remove the oil filter and double check the oil filter has only one gasket on it and make sure it is not spit. Put the oil filter back on, with one good gasket, and clean the area up and top the oil off to proper fill and then start the vehicle and look at the filter as the engine is running. If you see no leaks after a few seconds then this may have been your issue. If you still see oil leaking the you will need to remove the oil filter and remove the oil filter housing. One of the "O" rings inside might have cracked or shifted. I recommend not driving or starting the engine until this issue is repaired.

sounds like you are describing the oil cooler. There is a gasket between the cooler and the block that goes bad quite often on the Volkswagen.

Need diagram to change oil for a 2005 Chrylser

Drive car on ramps or 2 2x12s reach behind oil pan remove bolt drain hot oil from car that has just been driven.into pan. When oil is just dripping very slow say 15 min replace plug. Now just behind front bumper next to engine is an oil filter remove it with an oil filter wrench. Make sure the gasket came off with the filter or just reach up with a clean rag and wipe the housing it will fall off if you touch it. Put oil on gasket of new filter and screw it on when the gasket touches the housing go 3/4 s of a turn more. Put in about 5-1/2 to6 quarts of 10w 30 oil. Start engine for a min ck for leaks shut off and ck dip stick and make sure it reads full after sitting 5 min or so to let oil dip down into pan

Has a bad oil leak coming from under the car . The only time it leaks is when the car is running, was told that it could be the oil pan gasket or the oil sending unit, what I wanted to know is where the...

The oil pressure sending unit screws into the engine block so you will need to look between the oil pan and the head.I suggest that you try tightening your oil filter first.

HAVE A OIL LEAK COMING FROM ABOVE THE OIL FILTER.

Has the oil filter just been replaced? Sometimes the old gasket sticks to the mounting area, causing leakage if the new filter is installed on top of it. It is also possible the gasket was for some reason missing on a new filter. Let me know if this is not the cause, I'll try to help further.
