Put panasonic cf 29 into safe mode

On ALL Panasonic Toughbooks you can
boot into safe mode as follows:

Make sure the Toughbook is OFF.

Power on the Toughbook and immediately
start to press repeatedly the "F8" function key
which is usually located above the number 7 key.

You only have 2-3 seconds to do this and this
will only work in Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.

A "text-only" screen will come up. You can then
choose SAFE MODE or if you also need to
connect to the internet choose:
Safe Mode with Networking.

Use the UP or Down Arrows to highlight the
selected option and then press Enter.

That is it.

Good Luck!

Brighten screen

Toughbook is a type of laptop computer marketed by Panasonic Corp.

The durable exterior makes it ideal for use in the military, government, hospitals and EMS systems.

The backlit keyboard is an accessory that can be added for convenience.

Check Power

Check the Toughbook to see if the power is on. Inspect the power cables to ensure they are intact.

View the available battery life on the screen of the Toughbook.

If the Toughbook is not receiving an adequate amount of power, the backlighting may not operate properly.

Optical Sensor

Remove anything that is obstructing the optical sensor.

The optical sensor is on the top right side of the keyboard.

The sensor reacts to light to determine if the backlighting should be turned on or off.

If there is anything obstructing the sensor, the backlighting will not work.

Wipe the sensor with a dry cloth to remove any dirt or dust that may be obstructing the sensor.

Connector Ports

Check the cables in the connection port to ensure the cables are securely inserted in each port. The connector ports that allow the keyboard to communicate with the LCD screen are on the left side of the keyboard and screen.

The keyboard cannot operate properly without solid connections, which are made with a USB and a function cable.

FN Button

Press the "FN" and "F12" buttons to brighten the back light.

The back light may be operating properly but you may be unable to see the light if it is too dim.

Pressing these buttons together will brighten the back light by at least four levels.

Temperature

Place your hand on the bottom of the keyboard. If the keyboard feels hot to the touch, the keyboard probably has entered a protective sleep mode.

The Toughbook will go into protective sleep when internal temperatures reach a dangerous level.

When this happens, allow the computer to remain shut down for a while in order to cool down before it will begin functioning properly.

When the computer feels cool to the touch, it is safe to use.

This typically takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Hope this helps

Panasonic Toughbook won't load Windows XP CD

You can check to see if the hard drive is dislodged, but other than that I don't know what to tell you. If you know the drive is functioning correctly then your motherboard is probably dead.

Power off

That is because of the invention of power saving modes, where a single touch puts it in sleep mode and a 4+ second touch turns it off.

Check the bios to see if there is an option under the power saving section. You may be able to change this function to suit you.

Panasonic Cf-48 toughbook pentium 4 windows

I don't know what version of windows your running but try first going into the bios on your laptop and disabling your adapter. Then see if you can boot windows to try and find out if it is a hardware or software problem. If you can boot windows after disabling in bios you have some idea now what to look for. Instructions for how to enter bios should be in your manual for your Toughbook or posted on Panasonic's web site for your machine
