My computer wont start up it says windows like its loading then goes to a black screen that says start windows so i do just keeps repeating it over and over plz help

If you have your operating system disk use these steps to boot from disk and repair your system files
Boot from CD

  • Go into BIOS Setup
Restart your computer When the first screen appears press either esc, F2, or F10.
The actual key to press is usually displayed, and varies.

Once in BIOS Setup, you can use the keyboard to navigate. All keys are
usually displayed at what they do.
  • Navigate to "Advanced Settings", "Boot Devices", "Boot Sequence", or similar

Here you should find the boot devices and which order they are in.

Modify the boot devices by either disabling devices (Such as every device but the
CD drive), or by moving them in a sequential order

Now when you reboot an option should come up that say's REPAIR SYSTEM FILES select that and it should fix your problem.

I had lost my Dell Latitude D600 Bios passowrd. So I removed the comos battery (behind main battery) and reinstalled it. But now my laptop is giving this message on bootup "invalid system...

  1. Set the BIOS to defaults:

  2. Restart your Dell laptop. Click on "Start," "Turn off Computer" and "Restart."

  3. Press "F2" during the boot process to enter the BIOS. Press "F2" before the Windows loading screen. Certain models may use a different key. The key will be displayed during the boot process. For most Dell models, the key is "F2."
  4. Use the "Alt" + "F" key combination to load defaults.
  5. Press "Esc" on your Dell laptop keyboard to save and exit.
  6. Choose the "Enter" key to save all changes and exit the BIOS screen. Allow your laptop to restart for BIOS settings to reset.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Blue screen on my dell latitude d600 tells me its dumping memory and that its complete says contact tech support

Hello my friend,
The blue screen is very popular and it's usually happen when there is a file system deleted or a virus on your computer.
You may try to boot up your system in safe mode and then uninstall any software that you installed recently and restore also your computer to a date when it was working fine.
If this doesn't fix the issue, you can try the recovery system if enabled when you installed your system for the first time.
If it's not the case, the only way to get this computer working again is by formating your computer and installing windows again.
Best Regards,

MY DELL LATITUDE D600 WONT LOAD WINDOWS AT ALL :( HELP

The computer is telling you is that the hard drive isn't being detected. This could be due to a poor connection from the drive to the motherboard, hard drive failure, or even something that's gone wrong on the motherboard.

In the BIOS setup (the F2 option), check to see if the drive is listed on the screen where you can check connected devices. If the hard drive doesn't show up, you'll probably want to replace it. The good news is that it's very simple to get to the drive, and you easily find replacements from several online vendors (Tiger Direct, Newegg, and so on) or possibly even at large retailers. Here is a link to online documentation at Dell for this model. You can view or download the service manual which shows just what you need to do. (The hard drive access page is here.)

If you replace the drive you'll have to reload all your software, but you've already decided that's not a bad thing.

HOW CAN I FIX MY COMPUTER? ITS READING UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME?

You need your Windows XP cd for this fix.

Boot from the Windows XP CD and at the first prompt, press "r" for repair. Press 1 when asked to choose windows installation and then enter the admnistrator password. If you don;t have one, just press "enter" and it should show you "c:\windows>"

At this prompt, type the following

chkdsk /r

THis should take quite sometime but will fix the problem at the end. when you get the c:\windows prompt again, type the word "exit" and your system will reboot and load windows XP normally
