Question about Zanussi Dishwashers

Open Question

Hi I've inherited a Zanussi DA6142 Dishwasher from a recent house move. It was treated quite poorly by students who I suspect ran it without the filters in place. I've used a dishwasher cleaner and was able to pull out the lower spray arm and rinse out all the crud that was blocking it (small stones, food, plastic, pieces of glass, paper, etc) but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get the upper spray arm out. The PDF manual I've downloaded for this model says DO NOT remove upper spray arm. I've poked the holes with a straightened paperclip but after every wash they are blocked again and it's frustrating not being able to flush it out like I did the lower one.

SOURCE: upper spray arm on dishwasher does not move

you most likely have gunk inside the arm or holes not allowing the water to spray out and turn the arm. Otherwise, the arm bearing may be stuck and will need a gentle push to loosen up.

SOURCE: lower spray arm siemens aquastop dishwasher doesn't rotate

Sprayers require water to pass through the jets to provide motion to the arms.

Suggestion;

Remove the sprayer from the machine and look for blockages. (Removal should be easy, at it is expected that the user will need to clean the jets occasionally; If you have any problems removing it, consult your manual).

. Hi.Have a Zanussi DI720

This is a guess but try gently moving it through the cycles by hand a few times, it may just be that the timer mechanism is stuck a bit from age and or disuse. Turning it may help to loosen it up.Be gentle though.

Hi I have a Zanussi ZDF501 dishwasher that stopped heating up intermittently. It got worse and I fitted a new heater and all was ok for a few months. Then the intermittent failure started...

In my case, although the solder joints on the relay looked poor, improving them didn't help. I had to replace the relay. Fortunately, Maplin stock a compatible one, JM67X for 1.99. See PCB Mount Low Profile 12V 10A Relay

Zanussi ZFC 45/30 SS is hot at front between the doors..

This is normal. This is a defroster to keep moisture from condensation from freezing the doors shut.

ASKO 1385 not filling after overfill protection was turned on

If when turned on the dishwasher sounds like it is running the drain pump, and does this in any cycle setting, it is possible that the drain pan below the unit has filled with water. Check this post for more details.
