I've got the smae problem with the DMR-EZ37V & am looking how to get it to work. Overall this player has been almost nothing but trouble & a real piece of ****. I'm going to avoid all Panasonic models based on how frustrating this one is.

Panasonic DMR-EZ27, mine was showing RC 2 message everytime I tried to use the remote. After reading some of the suggestions here on how to fix it, i tried holding the enter button and 1 for five seconds. that didn't work. So then I tried holding the enter button and 2 for five seconds, that did work. I guess which buttons you hold down depends on the rc # being displayed. I hope this helps.

There is a simple solution to the U99 error. You can fix it without sending it back to the shop. Simply unplug your DVR, wait 24 hours and plug it back in. Go to the functions area, setup and reset the settings to default factory settings. This repairs the problem.

Please try using codes 0178 / 0317 / 0442 / 0457 / 0700 / 0856 / 1178 / 1265. Ensure you are holding down the [TV POWER] button on the remote as you enter the 4 digit code.

Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder / VCR Combo RC1 errior message how do I fix this problem

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-DMR-EZ47-DVD-Players-manual/id/2811ag420/t/2/
To get into Service Mode, first put the machine in STANDBY mode, then press the buttons ChUp OPEN/CLOSE and REC all at the same time on the front panel (Ch Up is hidden inside the AV3 input flap). Eventually the front panel display will show "SERV" (after its "HELLO" messages). Anyway, pressing [6] then [5] on the Remote Control tells me that I have an Error Code of "04" which is a Digital PCB or Communication Error (whereas an Error code of "02" means a "Defect of RAM drive"). (To exit from Service Mode, press [0] then [0] which should get you back to "SERV" and then POWER-OFF the machine).

Hopefully, your manual will display your error codes.

Perhaps the remote control is not set to the same control code as your DMR-ES40V. Codes may be set to 1, 2, or 3 on the remote by holding down the enter button and one of those number buttons for several seconds at the same time. The factory default is code 1. Try 1 first. If that doesn't work try 2. If that doesn't work try 3. If one of those codes doesn't work you may have a bad remote or a bad sensor on your machine. On DMR-ES35V models the sensor is located just to the right of center behind the black window

Universal Remote says ''RC2'' for DMR-EZ27

Question (s): The remote control for my DVD recorder has stopped working. Every time I press a button, the display says "CHK REMOTE 1", "RC1" or "SET1". What is wrong? Answer/Comments: Your DVD recorder remote control can be programmed (with different codes), so it can be used with multiple Panasonic DVD players. When you press a button and the display shows [CHK REMOTE #] or [RC#] or [SET#] it means that the DVD recorder and the remote control are not set to the same code.To set the remote control code to that of the DVD recorder, press and hold [ENTER] as well as the corresponding code number on the display (1, 2 or 3) at the same time for more than 2 seconds.

Panasonic DMR- EA18 DVD player/recorder - Remote control Problem

I figured out, unlike all the other posts, you don't have an enter button. But Instead, you would hit the 2 and OK button at the same time for a few seconds. I had the RC1 message and I did the 1 with OK and it worked. so if you have RC2, you should hit the 2 and OK. Should work!!

Your DMR is telling you that it is set to listen for RC2 but your remote is transmitting RC1.

Two choices for a fix:

1. Put the remote back into RC2 mode by simply holding both the ENTER and 2 button for at least 5 seconds.

OR

2. Reconfigure the DMR to listen for RC1 by going into the function menus and selecting SETUP. Look for the remote control option. Change it to 1, it will currently display the value 2.

Enjoy.

Dvd recorder remote control

Anytime your unit displays RC1, 2, or 3 - the remote code needs to be reset. Other messages are "chk remote n" or "set n", n being the number 1, 2 or 3. These remote codes are set in case you have multiple products that interact w/ the remote - so when operating one device the other doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, every now and then for completely unknown reasons, they can slip out of the proper code. All you have to do (if your remote is, in fact, functional) is press and hold the number on the remote that corresponds with that which displays on the unit - in your case the number 3, and hold the Enter key at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds. This should resume operation shortly thereafter. However, you will not see any confirmation on the display as you are performing this reset. It is trial and error.

PANASONIC DVD RECORDER DMR EZ27

I had the same problem with my first unit, took it back they had to unscrew it all to get me back my DVD. They gave me a new machine. Checked it out seems it's a Auto Tuning problem, i went into the menu and restricted the auto tuning, problem is now, every time i switch it on it wants to update the tuning!! Pain in the ass. Contemplating taking it back again. Panasonic said it must be a one off, they hadn't had any other complaints!! Yeah right.
