Acer aspire 4339 wont turn on with new battery

That means the laptop is not detecting the battery as authentic or full enough to boot the laptop. Most batteries are now smart batteries, so the battery you bought may be an aftermarket battery not supported by the laptop. Return it and cite the issue.

It was working good all of sudden screen became black and the PXE E61

It seems to have lost communication with the hard drive. Check physically (pop out and then back in) and in BIOS. Make sure its the 1st boot option.

Also disable PXE boot in BIOS or remove from 1st boot option. This is a LAN (network) boot option.

I have a IBM Thinkpad T20 Laptop. I need to install a new hard drive and I am not to sure how to do it. cAN YOU HELP?

you will need.
a philips or cross screw driver
the new HDD (hard drive)
and an instalation disk either XP, vista or linux.

uplug from the mains and remove the battery on the bottom of the comp you will see two large panels remove the you will find the hdd under one of them.
remove it the hdd will be held in a bracket type thing we call a caddy remove it and put it onto the new hdd insert it into the comp screw the panels back on replace the battery turn it over plug into the mains.
start the computer go into the BIOS push F2 i think go to boot and select the 1st boot from cd open the cd draw place in the cd close it push F10 it wil ask if you wish to save and exit push yes.

the computer will now shutdown and restart you will get a message in the top right screen push ant key to boot fron cd.
now folow the on screen prompts and ya done.

This is one of the most common issues with Laptops. In fact the problem is with the Charging Component (socket/plug) on the laptop, when charger is plugged in and plugged out very frequently, this happens as the charging interface is being moved time and again and become loose. From your side, you can try cleaning the interface :

You can use a cleaning brush dipped in alcohol or acetone or similar cleaning solution to clean the socket.
If this isn't not successful and it boots up using a charged battery, then you are likely be necessary to replace the charging socket:

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My new HP notebook won't turn on. I've had it for one month. There is a light on the side where it is plugged in, but it won't turn on

Unplug the AC adaptor. Remove the battery. Hold down the start button for 1 minute. Replace the battery and plug in the AC adapter. The computer should reboot.

Display could be bad, try plugging in an external PC display to verify it.
Other than that it may be the main board is bad.
Some older laptops and PC's had issues with capacitors going bad and would fail to boot.
There was a recall but I'm sure that expired now.
If it's new and under warranty contact www.dell.com to get an RMA to send it in.

Need XP Professional password for Dell Latitude D600

Assuming Windows XP.

Boot into safe mode. Do so by pressing 'F8' a few times just as the computer begins to boot up (right before the Windows screen)

Once in safe mode, click on administrator (or type it in as the username if it doesn't come up with the welcome screen). It shouldn't, by default, have a password if it is XP Home.

Once logged in as administrator, go to control panel and users and change the password on the account you want or create a new one.
