Question about GE Refrigerators

I have a GE Monogram fridge with the integrated ice maker system. It quit making ice about a week ago. I have cleaned it out, but it will no longer make ice. Is there anything I need to try before I give up and call a repairman?

Icemakers=troublemakers. About 9 of 10 failures occur there first.
You didn't state whether the water supply is still present or the motor that drives the eject mechanism is still trying to turn.

Check your water supply at the rear of the unit to see if it is getting any, and change any filter through which the supply water flows.

My GE Monogram side by side built in refrigerator will not freeze ice or keep food frozen. It stays just under the freezing temperature. The refrigerator portion seems to work. Can anyone help?


its possible that its either short of gas or the little fan motor in frezzer/fridge is not working,but if its only making ice now and then its sounds like a gas shortage

Water overflowing in ice maker tray on a GE


make sure your refrigerator unit is level first . If it is , and you have eight square faced plastic cover on the front of the ice maker itself that can be removed by un- snapping it, remove it and see if there is a small screw with a spring underneath it or positive or negative arrow's on the unit where the screw is located. Regardless, if there is a screw all by itself turned the screw 1/2 turn Counterclockwise. this will decrease the amount of time the water valve is open during the ice bin filling cycle.

GE Monogram refrigerator icemaker problem


This is normal if you have previously used the crushed ice mode. The refrigerator will continue to dispense crushed ice for some time until the reserves are depleted. If this continues for a longer period then shut down the refrigerator and remove the dispenser compartment, clean any remaining ice and reinstall it. Start the power supply and wait 5 hours for the ice to form. Use the cube mode and you will surely obtain ice cubes.

Hi,
It is usual for a heater to warm the ice a little prior to emptying, however, as it is making the ice ok, heating ok, then failing to remove it, then I think the main drive motor has failed. This should be checked and replaced if defective.
If the motor tests ok, it may be the control board or temperature sensor at fault. All 3 should be tested while apart.

one of the valves could be open circuit. ice build up where the pipe enters the cabinet or sadly if not that then the complete ice maker. hope this helps
