HP WIRELESS KEYBOARD DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT IS IN UPPER OR LOWER CASE....

Hello ROse.
no PC stated, just HP.
wireless or not , keyboards work the same. (if not monkey'ed with with software or picking say Chinese keyboard set)
the caps lock key glows for uppercase. push that now, see?

if you press shift, it goes to upper, just like old typewriter did.
but only watching as you type tells you if its caps.

Do you have a descriptions of keyboard on Windows Vista There are keys with letters and numbers with icons on them . I would like the description of the keys.

Hi.

The layout of keys can differ with different model and make laptops. The keys with letters and numbers on them are used with the Num Lock key, if you press the Num Lock key them keys will type numbers instead of letters. If you press that key again they will type letters as normal.

The keys with icons on them are used with the function (Fn) key. That means that you hold down Fn and and use the F keys to adjust things like brightness, volume, mute and Wireless radio etc.

If you are wanting a full breakdown of your laptop models keyboard then i suggest you download the user manual from HP support website. Link below.

I can`t get any upper case functions to work on hp 2011 keyboard what key do i press

1.Make sure the "Caps Lock" key is not on. Though this will be obvious to most people, if your keyboard is typing in only upper-case letters it can't hurt to check. Look at the "Caps Lock" indicator light on the top right corner of your HP keyboard. If the light is on, strike the "Caps Lock" key on the left side of your keyboard. This will turn the "Caps Lock" off, allowing you to type in lower case letters again.

2.Make sure the "SHIFT" keys on your HP keyboard are not stuck. Dust and dirt can build up on a keyboard over time, which can cause certain keys to stick. If either of your keyboard's "SHIFT" keys get stuck, your computer will type in only capital letters. Use a toothpick or cotton swab to remove the gunk from the key, which should help it return to its normal position.

3.Unplug your HP keyboard and then plug it back it. This will remove the device from your operating system and then automatically add it back in. This can have the same effect, essentially, as restarting your computer. If your keyboard was typing in capital letters due to an error being stored in your operating system's memory, that error will now be cleared and the HP keyboard will function as normal again.

4.Update your HP keyboard driver. Click "Start" and then right click on "Computer." Click "Properties" and then "Device Manager." Right click on the listing for your keyboard and then click "Update Driver." This will update the computer software that is associated with your HP keyboard. If your keyboard was typing in all capital letters as a result of an error with this driver, the error will now be fixed and you can use your keyboard normally again

Some letters can't be typed

You need to replace the whole keyboard since the 4 letters is not working at all. You cannot change only 4 letter keys from your laptop.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.

The num lock key controls letters on regular keyboard.

Let Number key stay off then you could use normal 1234567890 that is between QWERTYUIOP and F1-F12

My wireless keyboard seems to be selective about which letters to acknowledge whenI type any faster than a two year old despite new batteries It is the one that came with the hp iq 775 touch screen desktop...

Wireless keyboards do have some delay, especially when the batteries are low, are you sure the batteries have a charge? Sometimes even new batteries are dead or very weak.

Some wireless keyboards only have a range of a few feet, but, moving it closer kinda defeats the purpose of having one in the first place.

Have you tried to go to (classic view): start>settings>control panel>keyboards... to make adjustments?
