Question about Samsung LNR238W 23 in. LCD Television
I had a problem with a 23 inch flatscreen samsung tv's hdmi port for a while. Eventually it stopped working altogether, and when I removed the back, I realized that the hdmi port was no longer attached to the motherboard. It appears that it was only ever attached with three solder points, and the contacts on the port to the motherboard are bent.
Now my question is twofold; is it possible to purchase ONLY the motherboard, or ONLY this hdmi port for my lcd? And if I can purchase the port, is it safe to mechanically drill it into the motherboard? There are holes are either side of the port, but nothing on the motherboard.
Yes you can purchase the main assembly but its simpler and cheaper not to use HDMI.
