New toshiba tv connect to sky plus box and perfect picture but no sound

Hi,

The first thing to do is check the connections between the Sky box and the TV. If you are using a SCART cable, it's possible that one of the pins in the SCART plugs has bent or become detached from the wire inside. If you have another SCART cable from a VCR or DVD player, try switching them over.

If this doesn't work, or if you are using another connection method between the Sky box and the TV, please post back and I will try to assist you further.

BElectric

50' philips plasma tv has sound but picture is distorted

I sugest you to change the video resolution settings on the PS-3 to see if TV sets to any one resolution...if you have any other video out (analog from PS3)...connect the out to TV and check video at different resolutions. If PS3 has Deep Color settings turn it OFF.

Sound but no picture on TV

Try hooking your components up to the "AV1" and "AV2" jacks on the TV. I experienced this when hooking up my DVD and VCR (movies of my kids so kept it around). I hooked one to AV1 jacks and one to COMPONENT jacks and had the same result you're describing. Hope this helps.

Can,t record from digital channels

You’re dvd/vcr only has analogue tuner so the only way to record is by using the Phillips tv but as said tv will need to be switched on.you would need a sky or cable box or a free view box separate to the tv to record with tv off.the vcr will recieve only on the av channel av1 when connected to tv.a sky box or cable can be connected to av2 on sharp using a second scart lead and box

No picture

There are so many different ways of hooking up video components nowadays that you shouldn't feel bad about having this trouble. Can you describe how you have the cables connected and what input on the TV is selected?

TV, Sky, DVDR, VCR + Wii connection

i cant see any problem with the connections. have you tried to connect the dvdr along with sky to another tv set? and did the same problem occured? if not, try connecting it the same way with another tv. and see if thesame problem would occur. if the same problem appears check if the connections from sky to dvdr scart if it is loose or not. try to clean the solid wire of the cable. if proble still persists dvdr is faulty. if not, defenitely there is a problem with the tv. and i suggest for you to have it checked.
