Most likely a model malfunction and this issue needs to be handled by a computer repair company for proper handling.

Connection failed

This is a message from the AVR2312CI attempting to connect to the Internet through it's local area network Ethernet socket. Turn this feature off in the setup section if you do not need to connect. If you do want to connect, make sure you have a good connection to your router and, if necessary, make sure your security software is not blocking the connection. If that fails, turn off modem, router(s) and amplifier then switch on in the order:
modem,router(s) and finally your AVR2312CI.
That should solve your error message.
Regards, Don.

My fax will send but does not receive

Dial the number for the fax. You should hear the fax respond on your phone.
If the fax doesn't respond call your telephone carrier. Have them test the line.
You may have to replace the fax/modem or you could have a noisy line or you may be dialing the wrong number.

No Dial tone using Symantec Winfax Pro 10 on Windows 98

Check the physical connection of the phone line to the computer make sure that it is connected to phone line symbol of the Ethernet adapter. Then make sure that the driver of the adapter is installed properly on the computer or you can try to scan the hardware first before the re-installation of the driver using the adapter.

Hi there. I have just taken over this office and am not sure what is connected and what is not. I am trying to send a fax through my computer and the "waiting for printer to respond:Canon MP830...

you need to give more details on how you're trying to send the fax.
keep in mind you don't actually need a printer to send the fax if you're using your computer to send the fax.. that's the reason you need to be more precise when discribing your problem.

in general you need to be familiar with how things are connected.

if your printer is a fax machine too the minimum you need is to have your printer/fax connected to a line (to the telephone wall jack) and to be powered up.

if your printer is only a printer and you're using your computer to send the fax you need to have your modem (the connector in the back of your computer that looks like a telephone line but says not telephone but 'line' connected to the phone line on the wall) connected and have software that allows you send faxes via your computer. (windows xp has that software so you need to make sure is installed (start>control panel>add remove programs>add/remove windows components>fax services should be installed) and if the software is installed you should be able to go to start>accessories>communications>fax>fax console

confirm what is your set up and give more details.

Cannot send or recieve faxes

You cannot send a fax on a broadband connection, they should have given you a splitter, if not get one, the splitter is a small box like thing, it has two telephone sockets on one side and one socket on the other, the telephone line from the wall is connected on one side, on the other side you have to connect your adsl modem in one and your telephone in another socket, Usually the sockets have descriptions on them specifing which decive should be connected to the socket.

Now you should have a dial up modem(56Kbps internal or external modem) connect this modem to the socket which specifies, Telephone. Configure the modem. configure yor fax settings to use this modem. Now you can send your faxes.

If your ISP does not support dial-up then you cannot use it to send faxes.

Post back with your results.

Need to know how to send fax's.

Hello,

Your particular Lexmark X3350 does not have a fax modem. You have a couple different options though, however I am not sure if the option in the software you are using will be ungreyed, but you will be able to send faxes.

One option is to purchase a modem at a computer store (usually they are around $15) and install it. If you want to take this route then I would first check to see if your computer has room for one or sometimes I have found people already have one, and its just not installed. If you would like to take this route, respond and I will make detailed instructions on how to install for you.

Another option is to pay for a service to send & receive faxes for you. This is common, because as technology continiously increases everything is becoming more and more digital and people are shifting away from using real paper all of the time. For instance I built a service for a company a few years ago where they could fax whatever papers they wanted by sending an email to my program with the telephone number as the subject of the email and whatever they wanted to fax as an attachment. If you are interested in this alternative let me know, and I will suggest some third party services for you.

Regards,

-Chester

Material I'm trying to send doesn't 'feed'

does it try to grab the paper?
do you hear anything happening before the beep?

The machine recognises that there is paper, then you should hear the communication, once it has the correct signal telling it the line is available for transmission it will feed the paper.

look at the tires and see if they turn to feed the paper, is there something in the way, do the tires turn,???

if yes clean with alcohol and try again, if the tires are too smooth then they need to be changed.

Fax config

Actually, you cannot send faxes through a DSL modem. You have to use a phone line or send it through the internet (not directly through the modem), at least from what I know...
