Even with trimmer the product keeps spinning hard left

is it possible you have wound string backwards? this is the usual case for string advancing string .

Use a piece of trimmer like in head. As you slide it on it will likely be tight and hard to come off

it is getting hot from friction because you cannot tighten it so the head spins but everytime it hits a wed it tries to stop spinniing because it is slipping from the bolt not tightened. fix the bolt hole with a tap and put in a new bolt

if theres a clutch then thats your problem, the clutch shoes are designed to fly out and engage the clutch drum when the engine starts spinning faster. of course if the tick over is set too high then this can cause the clutch to engage!!

You may have a broken drive shaft. Some are braided and flexable and used on curved shaft units. The solid shaft is used on most straight shaft units. Remove the string head and pull the shaft out to look at the ends to see if they are broken or stripped. George

Halfway down the shaft of the line trimmer, you can detach the line trimmer attachment ( this in so you can fit a lawn edger attachment if need be). Unclip the line trimmer at that halfway point and the start the motor and see if that rod inside the shaft is spining, if so, reattach the line trimmer attachment and see if the nylon line spins, if so, it wasnt attached correctly, if not, then there a break in the flexible rod going to the trimmer head, most likely at the bend.

I'm in a similar situation with my GH1000, except that it was a part that comes with whole motor assembly. I could sell you the shaft assembly of my trimmer, or I'll buy your motor assembly. Yes?

I know I'm replying to a old post, but this might help others. My Echo GT225 might be similiar. Once u are down to the thread bolt & the round shaft part that spins in ither direction, u need to thread back on the line spool, at lest the botton part of it to hold the thread bolt in place. Then start turn that rounded part that normally just spins, it will start to thread off, as you are thrreading it off you may have to also start threading the line spool part off as well at the same time. After that you will need the tool that takes off the C ring clamp thing that's underneath. I couldn't find any info on this online, I just kept on playing with it until I figured it out, UGH.

try hitting them when thay are runing with your hand on the sid and bottom see what happens somtimes the brass bearing gets out of alinment or it can be the bushing on ether end.you can call me at 813-310-6211 jaime i rebuild them thats florida time.
