1 Load the document face up into the Document Tray. 2 Dial the receiving party's fax number. 3 Press [Start/Copy]. The fax begins sending. Note If an error occurs during sending, the fax beeps intermittently for a few seconds and an error message appears on the LCD. If this happens, correct the problem and then press [Stop], then try sending the document again. The fax automatically redials if the receiving party does not answer or if the line is busy.
If the line is busy on the other end, your machine will put it in redial state and will try again. However, the redial function will depend on the setting how many try it will make. If the setting is 2 as an example, it will redial twice only and if it is still a failure it will treat the transaction as "NO" or "NG". You can check this in the transaction list of your machine. As you said, there are numerous complaint, check if the complaint is with the same receipient, if so most probably the end machine is having some problem. If from different destination please have your machine checked by the local service provider.
your fax is in tad mode (telephone answering device) press the receive button (next to the start button) until you see fax only on the display this will correct the problem.if you have faxes in memory press the report key for reports, then opt.1 for help list

the number you called does not answer or busy-you may have reached a number not connected to fax or it is connected and not activated in receiving mode-check the number and call again. if you have a message "out of memory"there is no enough memory available to send your fax.press stop/exit print the faxes stored in the memory to delete them then try again.
Where the telephone line comes in from the wall, make sure that it is plugged in the "line" or "wall" port. There is probably another port call "tel" or "acc". If the line is plugged into that port you will still get a dial tone but you are not connected to the fax's modem. You hope that's it.
