Back cover won't shut on 3000cn

Had a paper jam, removed the paper (gently) from the back of the printer and tried to shut the cover - won't shut. Something is keeping it from closing, but what???

The computer says the printer is out of paper, but it isn't. I have reloaded the paper. Shut everything done and restarted.

There is a guide just at the pick up roller that can fall out of position.
Pop off the back cover (the hinges are spring loaded). There are 4/6 screws holding the paper conveying section, remove these and teh conveying section should just slide out. Disconnect the cables on the lower RHS. There should now be a whitish plastic guide with sponges on it visible. Stand it upright placing the guide behind the frame of the machine, use a prop to keep them in place, something placed into the paper traay section. then re-fit everything.

Hope this helps.

How to clear paper jam trouble epson L210

most printers have a cover at the back. Switch off the printer and see the back and gently pull out the cover and you should be able to see the jammed paper. So you can gently pull the paper out. If that doesn't work put the cover back and lift the front cover and see if you could see the jammed paper or even small pieces from a torn page. If you do, gently pull all the pieces out. Once you cleared all the jammed papers it should work.
Unplug all your cables and leave for few minutes and reconnect the cables and switch on, it should work. Good luck.

Dell 3000cn Laser Printer Problem--Paper Jam

Have you been able to get the toner out yet?

There is a little handle on the right side that you need to lift to unlock the cartridge:

See if there is anything hiding in that part of the paper path. Maybe even just re-seating the cartridge will be enough for the sensors to stop tripping.

How to repair paper jams

<span>Instructions</span> <ol> <li> Turn off the printer. As the printer shuts down, it will automatically attempt to remove any paper that is jammed.<br /> </li> <li> Pull any paper that is visibly sticking out of the printer. This can help to remove it if the paper is loose enough.<br /> </li> <li> Open the printer as you would to change the ink cartridges. Check inside to see if you can find the jammed paper and gently pull it out. You may need to remove the ink cartridges. Alternately, some desktop printers have a separate panel at the back of the printer that you can take off in order to remove jammed paper from the roller.<br /> </li> <li> Turn the printer back on and repeat the steps if necessary.<br /> </li></ol> jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); <span>Tips & Warnings</span> <ul> <li> Gently pull any jammed paper using both hands and avoid ripping. Tearing the paper may worsen the jam.</li> <li> Avoid filling paper trays to maximum capacity in order to prevent printer jams and never use damp paper.</li></ul>

Paper jam. Sheet printed but didn't pass through the rollers

Hi,
  • Remove the paper tray completely by pulling it out towards you.
  • Now pull the jammed/stuck paper out gently.
  • If you cannot remove the paper by the above procedures, open the printers front cover to access the cartridges assembly.
  • Pull the cartridges assembly gently and slowly. This will come out together with the jammed paper.
  • If jam not cleared, open the back cover and pull the tab outwards to access the fuser unit.Remove the stuck papers here.

  • Hope this helps.Thanks!

I've got the same problem.
The problem is probably due to a lose or defective sensor.
Open the back cover. In the middle you can see now a sensor (2 small glass "eyes". It is possible that this sensor has lost connection (white plastic holder). The way to access this is to open the imaging drum cover, remove the drum and reach all the way down inside.
So far my theory. I can not reach it and have little hope. Never again a Dell :-( .

Dell 3000cn Color Laser has a duplex. If you face the printer on the top right of the duplex there is a button to release the duplex and it folds back. The reg cover is a door on the back of the printer that is covered by the duplex, try opening again, I know you have done this, maybe even wiggle it a little see if it registers as closed.

Also check to see if any dust or paper pieces maybe be jammed in there.

Paper jam

Some of the Ink Jets have a cover in the back of the printer that you have to turn a lock to remove and you could have some paper stuck back there.

Removed the fuser unit and also removed the left hand side panel to access the gearing mechanism.

Manually rotated the gearing a number of times thru 360 degress. This appears to have cleared whatever was causing the printer to detect a paper jam although there was no obvious sign of bits of paper or even dust build up.

Paper transport does not work; terrible grinding noise

I took mine apart from the back and put it back together and it worked. It is probably due to moving it and the bottom paper tray alignment gets out of whack. I inspected all of the gear train and didn't find any worn or missing teeth. I suspect a paper jam started it and the user turned the printer around to open the back door. Since the handles are on the printer the tray doesn't move with it which allows it to separate and possibly jam a pickup drive gear.
