Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

What is the component called which has the live wire from the mains attached to it ? My wixe127 indesit has a burned brown/live wire to it. The component is located at the top right hand side of the machine? This is what has created my burning smell when I have used the machine. Thanks

It is possibly 1 of 2 components involved, the terminal block, or the thing they call they the capacitor or condenser as it is sometimes called.
This could be round or cylindrical in shape.

Fix / Repair Lay Z Spa Heater

1) Opening the shell and identifying the heater unit (its at the end of the metal pipe) You will have to unscrew the circuit board2_bing.gif and metal pipe to access the unit.
2) In the heater unit there are live (x2) neutral and earth wires.
3) The first live wire you need to identify is the one coming from the mains. It will be going into a water flow switch covered by a white cap. The wire is only clipped in, so pull on it with some force to remove it.
4) Next you should remove the other brown wire from the clips, so that you have a small section of brown live wire no longer attached to the clips. This piece of wire is no longer needed, but keep it in a safe place for if you need to reverse the process if this does not work (it should)
5) Now attach the original brown live wire that came from the mains into the clip which you just removed the small brown wire from. (not the part that was going into the white cap)
6) This should bypass the water flow switch and should allow the filament to heat. 7) Then reassemble the pod the way you disassembled it and the water should now heat up when attached to the spa.

Error code 008 on indesit wixe127. What is it and how can i fix it please?

F08: Wash Heater Relay Stuck (signalled in presence of empty) or pressure switch stuck on Full (simultaneously empty and full)
- Check efficiency of J3 connector contacts on card
- Check pressure switch status by checking ohmic continuity on wiring connector J3 pins 2 and 4 (it must only be present with
tub empty), pins 2 and 3 (it must only be present with water in the drum) and pins 2 and 1 (it must only be present with water in the tub above normal level, more than halfway up door glass).
- Check wiring J3/pressure switch
- Check connection of heating element J3 connector pins 5 and 6.
- Replace pressure switch
- Replace Card

Have a neff t1213xo, what does black grey and brown wires stand for?

You have an hob with European three phase at 220volt mains wire connected.
You need to to disconnect from mains connection box on hob and fit conventional British brown, blue and green/yellow.
Inside the connection box you will see three live terminals,(L1,L2 & L3) there are usually some brass links to join them all up and then attach brown core to one of them. If the links are not there then you will need to fit 2.5mm links from a piece of wire.

What wires go where

I would suggest getting a service manual to see where the wires go. you can go to:, the manual is posted there. It should have the number of customer service as well.

Ihave a bosch dishwasher on the powerlead there is a suppressor which is burnt out, when i took it out the blue wire went to the live side and the brown the neutral side is this correct

With AC it doesn't really matter because AC votlage is alternating waveform. Ideally Blue to blue and brown to brown to keep conformity. It is also better for electrical safety because of the way circuit breakers are wired. Generally we fuse or break the line (live brown) in a circuit as a standard. But realistically the neutral is a live conductor also.

Only in sensitive control electronics would the AC polarity have any effect really.

Some people may disagree with me, but reality is AC voltage line and neutral measures and behaves the same no matter which way round the go, they are both live conductors and are not polarized. DC votlage has a positive and negative connection, and these most certainly need to be the correct polarity.

The burn out was most likely caused by a loose connection, or possibly a power surge, water leak or failed component.
