I need a service repair manual to even know if there is a replacable fuse.

    Need service repair manual.

  • sinai Jun 25, 2008

User manual is of little value for most trouble shooting or solving internal problems.

Use normal PSU fault finding techniques
Start with , Any power from secondary of chopper transformer, at the diodes)
usual PSU voltages are 5v,3.3v 12v (the 12v feeds the CCF tubes power generators)

    Kleanthis Mavropoulos Jun 25, 2008

If yes the psu ok, If no check for 320v across mains smoothing capacitor
If 320v ok but no output, check for shorts on the output lines (schottly diodes)

If the PSU is running and there are any leds glowing on the front
check to see it the flurecent tubes (on each side) are glowing
they usually have their own supply generators powered by 12v from PSU

No there are no schematics available online for this model.
You would be most likely best off having it serviced. If you need any further assistance or information let me know.
Thanks,
Nate

look for damaged components in the power board

and u can replace them if u have enough experience in electronics.

    thank you

  • dewan nafees ahmed Jun 24, 2008

    nope. am afraid.
getting a schematics is very difficult.

but i wil try to get one for u surely.

and we can say that the problem is in the power board. not power source. mostly may be some blown off IC or some other component?

What does the red blinking lights on the "standby"

Hi,

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.
Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set.
3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power problem.
6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your set.
7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set. Please check to make sure that the air vents on the sides and back of the set are not blocked or clogged and there is adequate ventilation around the television. We recommend that you check and clean the vents periodically to make sure the set receives adequate air flow. If the problem continues, the set will need to be serviced.
8 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a video-related problem with your set. If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

My sony grand wega kdf e55a20 power light keeps blinking red. what can the problem be?

Red is an indication signal for power connectivity. Recent devices have two power functionalities. Using the remote control would turn off the display of images to power saver mode. A red power light imiting diode display is indication that requiring display of images is achievable by pressing on the display mode button once more. NOTES; Powering on the device may be achieved with the same function buttons as shutting down the entire Device to least communicate with the power supply circuity from outlet sources. The device is in power off mode ready for repower on with the remote control. Requesting the TV to shut down completely would require to press on the TV button firmly until power cuicuit are disbabled completely. Refer to the TV user guide to ascertain fucntionaility modes usual during operations. Goodluck

The screen doesn't go on when the power to the TV is turned on.

View your screen from a flat angle while on a known active channel to see if you can detect any 'ghosting' of images.
I think either the back-light or the high voltage supply for it has failed.

We were changing channels on Westinghouse sk-26h730s and the screen went blank. Nothing works, no menus, etc. Power indicator light was still on so turned it off. Turned it on and power indicator came on...

This sounds like the inverter board has gone out. The inverter board is in charge of turning on and off the back light. If this goes out the TV is still able to fully function meaning you will still get power indicator to turn on, but since the back light is off you cannot see anything on the screen. You will need to replace this part so your TV can be fully functional again. For more information on how to replace, obtaining the correct part #, and parts as well as price availability please send me a quick email to westytech@westinghousedigital.com. Red light flashing...no picture. TV not turning

Probably a failed main power supply. There are at least two supplies; one that keeps the remote function alive continuously and the second that is turned on when the set is ordered to operate. The smaller supply is a low voltage circuit and that is providing your error indication.

When I power on the tv, the light goes to green and then a few seconds later goes to a red flashing light

When a set is powered up, there are internal checks that are performed. The initial green light indicates that power has been applied. The flashing red light indicates that a problem was found that is preventing the set from functioning properly and it has shutdown to prevent further damaeg. If you can supply the model number, I may be able to provide additional details. Also, check to see if the flashing red light has a pattern. Quite often the pattern will indicate what problem was detected.

Thanks,
Dan

KF-WE42 Indicator flashes red.

Try leaving the TV unpugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself.
If that doesn't work, most likely the TV has a power supply related problem.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you flashing red light codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

TV ON STANDBY MODE

The blinking light on the front indicates a shorted part in the power supply. The power board will need to be replace or repair to restore the LCD functionality.
Let me know if you required further assistance.
