Question about Epson Stylus Photo R1800 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

The 'grabber' (black composite material) does not grab the paper firmly enough.

Ever since i had a serious jam using a soft canvas, the grabber has not done its job. Can I get a replacement and install it??

I need a new grabber too I think. I used heavy cardstock in the printer and had to feed the pages one by one. Now it doesn't even push through plain paper. Help!!!!

With this paper jam, I opened the scanner unit and can see the paper, but there's not enough showing too grab hold of it.

try a pair of long nosed pliers or adjustable grips if you have some. I would also try some strong tape, sticking it to the paper to get as much purchase as possible and then pulling gently , steadily rather, but firmly

good luck with it

Paper jams on the right hand sideon the last half of the sheet. the printer is clear of all paper from previous jams. The printer is an Ofice jet 6310 All-in-one

If it jams all the time, then there is a problem with the mechanic paper feed gears.

If it is an occasional paper jam, just remove the paper and restart the printer.

Give me more details for more troubleshooting.

My printer X3350 has trouble grabbing the paper from the paper tray. What can is the problem. I tried cleaning the grabber wheel. But it still won't grab the paper.

Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please follow steps below to fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris in the cartridge carrier's path or the paper path.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hi I have an epson stylus D88 Plus and the paper grabber is not grabbing my paper? Any ideas? There is no paper jam Ruth

if it's regullar paper try a thicker one and see if it's working. If it does, that indicates the rubber rolleris probably too used.

Got paper jammed pulled it out but now won't work tries but then red flashing and makes a bit of noise

-To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.

-For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.

-Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.

I have an Epson R1800 and when I load Roll 13X19 matte media and try to print I either get a "jammed media" message or the printer trys to print without feeding the media.

I had a similar problem trying to print epson pro canvas. I finally learned the "trick". First I generally cut an appropriately sized pice of canvas from the roll. Then I attach a HEADER. This is dome by cutting a piece of 13" wide photo paper in a three inch length (so you have a piece 13" x 3") . Draw a line at 1.5 inches and place some sort of adhesive (I use a double sided tape gun) on one side of the line. Line up the canvas/paper with the line and make sure it sticks to the header.

Now you should be able to manually feed the header/paper into the printer - once the header passes the correcct point the printer will "grab" it a position it correctly for printing.

Hope this helps

Copier jams after making one copy

Is the jam Physical? (Damaged lead edge where it may have caught some thing)
Is the jam Timing (paper if perfect, it just stopped.)
If it is Physical then you need to look for the obstruction, paper clip, staple, or small piece of paper. Check very carefully, remove any foreign matter and retry.

If it is a timing jam, the start by removing the paper, check inside the the paper feed area for foreign material, fan the paper and carefully reinstall it, making sure it is the right size paper for the paper cassette. if it has movable guides in the tray, be sure they are firmly against the paper on all sides.

Close up the machine and try again.

Hope this helps.

My epson r1900 won't load a roll of canvas through the roll paper feeder. I put the roll of printable canvas on the roll mounts but no matter what I do it won't feed into the printer.

After talking for many minutes (thank you Skype!) to the Epson service guy I am now able to load a roll of canvas. The trick is that the paper must be firmly against the right side (looking from the front) of the feed slot and must have some slack going in. The only way I can accurately meet these conflicting requirements is to put the roll in the roll guides on the table behind the printer and feed the paper into the slot holding it on both edges. When the paper is blocked be sure to pay attention to the right side and have it as firmly as possible agianst the right side of the slot and push enough into the slot so that it bowes up a bit. You will feel the printer gently grab the paper. Immediately let go, don't fight it.
I leave the roll on the table, but after this point you probably can mount it on the back if you need to.
In case it is not clear: after printing tapping the roll botton will mark the cut line and feed the paper out. After cutting tapping the button again will roll it back for the next print. Holding the roll button will eject the papaer out the back.

Machine not feeding paper through

try cleaning the rubber rollers with a damp cloth and make sure there clean. also check to see if the paper is making contact with paper.
if that fails check the leading edge of the paper for damage incase something maybe blocking paper.
