Could i rplace my hard drive with 1 terrbytes

I would start by looking at your computer manufacturer's website for specs for your particular model. They often list possible upgrade options and usually have specific details about how to physically remove and replace a HDD and other major components.
You could also visit the Western Digital website WD Interface Guide
to learn more about the process and requirements.
Once you know the what type of HDD you have from manufacturer specs, [from my PC experience most common is SATA] or PATA or whatever else, physical size, [usually 2.5" for a Laptop] then you can move on to selecting another HDD considering size, performance, price, etc.

How to fix hdd errors on my acer laptop

If you run chkdsk/f any logical errors will be fixed. If you have physical errors, replace the drive before you lose all of your data.

I have a dell 1525 inspiron, it keeps telling me that windows has dectected a hard disk problem back up files you have any help ideas or repair ideas

Basically there is no perfect product for this task, these errors are usually divided intotwo: physical and Badura Badura software, not physical ones of what to do than tochange the HDD and the HDD format is software. if you have warranty for your laptop go to dell warranty to change your hdd, if you not you must buy one new.

Notebook won't find harddrive when starting up unless I undo the cover and push HD with my fingers.

It means that your HDD has a physical damaged. If you can back up all of yours files do it before it gone totally bad.
2 options that you can do.
1. HDD replacement before it affects other part of your computer.
2. If you have local computer shop, you can bring that to them for the physical check.

If your computer still within warranty call the manufacturer for the HDD replacement for free.

Trying to open my wd passport external drve, with my compaq presario 700 laptop ,it will not open it

if your external hdd works fine with other computers, then the USB ports on your motherboard does not provide sufficient power to start your external HDD you may use a dual usb cable like this

if your external hdd works the same with other computers then it may be one of two reasons 1- the usb controller inside the external cage
2- physical problem on the hdd it self

On recovery I get 2 messages. The first is

I am assuming you are recovering from a HDD partition and not form a CD.

This means you have serious HDD either physical damage to the HDD (aka you dropped the laptop while it was turned on) or psychical damage to the HDD (like windows did a messy thing while writing files to the HDD).

The fact is that you will not be able to recover from the files you have now, no matter how many times you try. The files are damaged.

Try contacting ACER and ask them for the recovery CDs (pe sure to have the laptop near you as they will ask for serial number, model number etc.

Best from here and good luck !
