What is the best enclosure volume for 15" Juggernaut 2000watts rms car subwoofer. i want to know the dimension of the box along with ports size.

Subwoofers differ in only one way. You get an "Open Air" and a "Closed air" subwoofer, That being said, you'll have to check on your magnet which one you have to make the boxes for that sub. If it is an "Open air" Subwoofer, you should see a "wire mesh" or "grid" in the centre, at the back of the magnet. If it is a "Closed air", the magnet will be solid with no hole whatsoever.

If it is a "Open air" sub, your boxes should be sealed with silicone, and no ports are to be cut in your box.

With "Closed air" subs, you should have 2 ports below your sub and the port sizes should be around 50mm in diameter. You should start with a 100mm long piece in the one box and add 50mm increments to "tune" the port up to 250mm, depending on the frequency of bass you require.

On a 15 inch subwoofer ranging between 80Hz and 120Hz, the box size required should be around 27 liters, meaning that you will end up with a box of 16 inches high, x 16 inches wide, x 16 inches deep. Or 320mm high, x 320mm wide, x 320mm deep.
Enjoy!

Where is best location to mount speakers besides trunk and trunk deck & doors?

Kick Panals are good, boxes are expensive though as they must be custom fit. Dashboard mounts, prolly only for componant speakers not subs. But if you wanna add speakers, you can always put more in the doors, trunk, or trunk deck to. Or replace your factory trunk deck, or door panals, and customize them to fit as many speakers as you like, have fun with it..

MTX 5500 SLEDGEHAMMER 12" ENCLOSURE

According to MTX they need 1.25 cubic ft per sub sealed and 2 cubic feet vented. Most pre-fab boxes will work for those subs.

Finding a good box for the sub

< I design sub enclosures for a living so you are in luck. > The one thing to remember is that generic sub boxes are just that - generic. Even if they have a fancy brand name, unless they are built for the sub you are using you will be making a guess as to how well it works. Don't get me wrong though it may work well in that band pass box, but just imagine how much better it could sound in a custom enclosure. Having said that you have the right idea, and bandpass enclosures can be power-full. If you send me (dynami28@charter.net)
the specs that came with the sub I can give you an idea of what kind of box you should get or, if you want to build your own, I can do the specs on that too. Personally I stay away from bandpass enclosures for one reason. When the subs distorts or gets pushed too hard you can't hear it happening. Since the sub is completely enclosed it's somewhat muffled or insulated so that distortion is hard to hear, which can blow up subs. A good ported enclosure would do well and basic plans should be on Lanzar's website, or available from myself. I do not recommend a sealed enclosure unless these subs will see light duty and you don't expect ground shaking bass. They can sound okay in a sealed box but most car audio enthusiasts like the ported boxes for their increased output and lower tones. Email me if you can't find the specs on those subs I might still have them on file. (Also the enclosure should be at least 3/4" thick MDF with bracing throughout.)

Dimension please for enclosure 12w3v2-d2

Typically you use one cubic foot per sub, so a 2 cubic foot box will work fine. To build a basic one, just a rectangular box, using 3/4" MDF (excellent material for a box), cut pieces this way:

2 - 25.5" x 13.5"
2 - 25.5" x 12"
2 - 12" x 12"

This will give you an interior volume of exactly 2 cubic feet. Cut your sub holes out of one of the 25.5" x 13.5" pieces.

12W3V2-D4 ENCLOSURE???

They need 1.4-1.7 cubic ft per sub(ported box) less if it is sealed but I wouldn't recommend that, it sounds like ****. Google "Re audio box calculator" and use it to adjust your dementions to your application

Wiring

In all reality, that amp is probably a bit small for those two subs. To maximize the power from the amp to the subs, make sure:
  • The dual voice coils of each sub are in parallel (+'s together, -'s together). This makes each sub 2 ohms.
  • Connect the subs in series (+ to -). This makes the combination of subs together 4 ohms.
  • Bridge the 2 channels of the amp to the subs in series (see above).
This will put somewhere between 150-200W to each sub.

Keep in mind, though, that depending on the music type and location in the vehicle, the type and size of the sub box is going to make almost as much difference as how much power is on the subs. Sealed boxes are usually small and have a nice flat response, but tend to need more power to sound louder. Ported and bandpass boxes are larger and aren't as flat of a response, but have nice loud peak at a certain frequency.

Let me know if you need any more help!
