I have Craftsman TX2028 remotes (139.53753) with Craftsman 3/4 HP Garage Door Opener (139.53990D), purchased in 2007. Garage door does not open with neither of the remotes. However, it opens with keypad & buttons in my van that I had programmed. I checked batteries and they are good. I tried to press "Learn" button and reprogram my remotes but no luck. Did my remotes go bad? What else can I do? Since keypad and button in my van open the garage door, I think garage door opener and remote sensing seem to be OK. Thank you.

On the back panel of the opener itself is a small pushbutton. Press the button and the indicator near it will light. While the indicator is lit, enter the new 4-digit code on your keypad and it will be set. (You are actually programming the receiver with the new code this way. The wireless keypad doesn't store a code.) The programming light goes off on its own.

what keypad are you using with new opener? Frequency has changed. can't use old one. you probably never needed to change things; just needed to follow proper coding procedures.

Make sure the battery is good and then locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this button and then walk over to the keypad and key in a 4 digit code and press enter.

Lets make sure you are programming it correctly, make sure the battery is new. Press and release the learn button on the motor. Within 30 seconds enter in the 4 digit code followed by the up/down button. The light bulb should flash once. If you can't get it to code in this way you will need to replace the keypad. Thanks BB
