I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite laptop that has a built in SD Card reader which works only once in a while.

Here is the funny thing - when I put a card in it makes a sound like the laptop is recognizing the card but then it doesn't appear when I go in my computer to look at this card.

The crazy part is ... it OCCASIONALLY does work. I was just in the control panel a few minutes ago and it says it is 'disabled'. I tried to 'enable' it and it just says that it can't. I also tried searching for updated drivers and it said none were available.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5859. It is running Vista.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated because I know this thing SHOULD work.

Not the sd card reader, it's a driver problem in windows try doing a system restore to a date back in the past where it did work.

My sd card shows but can't put anythig on it

Not many phones take an SD Card. The storage capacity of a phone is normally internal storage.

If it is indeed an SD card for your phone, you need to format it first.. That will be in settings, or you do it on a card reader on a computer.

My camera says memory full

Are you using internal memory or an SD card?
Internal is only 10mb, and if that gets full it happens real fast - the only thing you can do is get out the cable to connect to a PC and download the lot to a new file (call it Rescue, if you like).
If you are using an SD card, then pull the card, put it in an appropriate card-reader, and again download to your PC. If you don't have a card-reader, buy a new card (say 2Gb), put that in the camera and format it in camera. Put the old card in a safe place until you get a reader.

I have a PNY usb 2.0 combo. The usb ports work fine and read external drives etc. The SD readers quit working. The SD cards read fine on the internal mounted reader. My PC recognizes the drives, and t

I bought a deer cam (trail camera) at Walmart and a PNY card with PNY Multi-Slot USB & Flash Card Reader P-UBSDRDR21K-RF. I can't make them all work for me. PNY card reader has no instructions on the package neither on their website and their support is a joke. When I plug in this multi-slot card reader into my PC (I tried two different PCs) something isn't right. I get no results, just empty folders. The card is new and has data on it. Both products come from PNY, both were purchased at Walmart and both are going back to Walmart for a full refund and I will never buy a PNY product ever again.

Is there and sd card slot anywhere????

I believe SD card readers plug into the usb, the sd card then plugs into the reader to read.
A permanent sd card slot can be installed in the small floppy disc tray and plugged into the mobo.
But the sd usb option is bone cheap.

How to transfer pictures from internal memory to

Make sure a card is installed. In any still or video mode, press the Menu button. Press up/down to highlight Image Storage then press the OK button. Press up/down to highlight Internal Memory then press the OK button. (You'll need to set this to Auto later if you want pictures to go to a memory card instead of the internal memory.) Press the Review button, then the Menu button. Press up/down to select Copy>> then press the OK button. Press up/down to highlight what you want then press OK.

My sd card is not recognized in my computer and camera

If neither your computer nor your camera will recognize your card then it is safe to say that there is an issue with the card. You may either have bad contacts or an internal issue, but since your camera states it is locked when you say it is unlocked that would normally signify an internal issue. If you still have a warranty on the card I would suggest you take it back to the place it was purchased from.

Micro sd card

To read from a Micro SD card you will need a card reader that can read MicroSD cards. If your computer doesn't have one, you can go to Office Depot and buy one. They should have a few different models. If you have the adapters for your MicroSD card to convert it to a regular SD card, they have an $8 reader on sale right now. If not, they have a $35 card reader that will read almost every memory card format.

Otherwise, you'll have to go through your digital camera's software to read it.

Putting Internal Pic's on the SD card

Well one option would be to download the images from the cameras internal card to your computer and then transfer them to the card. I have a card reader so it would be easy to do, or if your computer has a slot for the card that would work too. Or, just hook your camera up to the computer and use the image downloading wizard that pops up in XP. Or, if it doesn't show/pop up, just hook up camera to 'puter via cord & then click on my computer and you'll see the camera listed. Move image files & then you may need a card reader to transfer images to xd. Not sure why you would want to keep them on the XD card except to transport them around to another 'puter.
