My basslink ii was recently installed into my 01 BMW 3 series. It works well once the car is off and works sporadically when the vehicle is running. (My power is ok and the install was done professionally). I noticed that is thumps and works well while the car is off since my battery is putting out EXACTLY 12 volts. The minute i start the car and the alternator is putting out 14 volts the basslink cuts off. I think this voltage is too high. Once I connect it to a batteyr only then it runs all day long perfectly? How can i regulate tis voltage or get bassink to accept the higher voltage without turning off?
From what i have heard, If you have a speaker level input connection. this sympton does occur. You buy a scosche LOC and try giving the input to Basslink, it should work fine

Test drove truk yesterday and stereo worked fine. Bought truck and drove it off the lot and when I went to turn on the radio the stations came up and the volume adjustment worked but no sound was coming out of the speakers.

Okay, I have an Infinity Basslink II installed in an 04 Acura TSX. I have left the unit hooked up to the battery, ground, and remote for about a week with no problems. It stays powered up, turns on and off with the remote wire as it should. Problems is, when I installed it a week ago and connected the RCA's, it sounds as if it is overpowered and distorted (extremly loud compared to the rest of the system) and if I turn up the headunit slightly, it blows the 20 amp fuse in the amp. You can hear music faintly in the back ground. I wanted to ensue everything else was hooked up correctly, hense why I left it all hooked up for a week without the RCA's. I have used a line output converter that states that it is a high / low impendance adapter level converter, dual channel, full DC isolation, input 10 ohm; output 10k ohms, and adjustable level control. Thr LOC is connected to the rear 6x9's and the polarity is correct. Tried differant RCA's, same response. What is the problem here? I've installed this unit before in a differant vehicle, worked great. Is the LOC the problem? Wrong amount ohms? The TSX has the factory amp, is this messing with the Basslink through the RCA's? The sound is the only issue when you plug in the RCA's. Any Idea's...

I've just had this thing pro installed and havw an appointment to see them again on Wed to troubleshoot....Thought I'd try as getting through to Harman Electronics seems impossible. SO...With AUTO TURN ON enabled at the BASSLINK Control panel...I get sporadic powering up of the BASSLINK II and then only for a couple seconds before it quits. With the AUTO TURN ON disabled the sub comes on with key in accessory position ONLY. Turn the key forward to start the car the connection is interrupted while the vehicle starts and then NO BASSLINK II is heard. Stop engine and remove key ...insert key and turn to accessory...BASSLINK II comes on after the head unit plays for a couple seconds. The connection to the factory GM headunit in my Trailblazer is thru the speaker level inputs of the BASSLINK II....if that helps. I've checked the connection at the battery and at the BASSLINK itself. All seem OK. HEEELLLLPPPP!!!!
