Normally adding memory takes one screw driver to remove one screw, pop in the new memory, and your done. Can be done in 2 minutes.

Since I don't know what model of Toshiba you have, it is hard to ascertain which memory modules you need but memory is relatively cheap nowadays.

I need to add space to my compaq presario desk top. i don't know how to on this computer. the model# SR5034X

If you want to increase cpu speed so you need to increase RAM memory.
You can fix it on motherbord of desktop cpu.
But if you have low space on disk storage partition so you can add space to desktop with 2 method.
(1) you can add harddisk to desktop cpu with sata or IDE .SATA harddisk is best if your motherbord support SATA.
You can add harddisk as you like for example 80 GB or 160 Gb.
(2) If you want to add RAM memory for speed reson you can purchase new RAm and fix it in memory module slot on motherbord.
There is 2 type on
RAM in currently.
DDR1 and DDR2

you can add RAM memory like 512 MB or 1GB or more.

Installed new memory modules can get to the toshiba post screen

Two ways to approach this.

1. try 1 stick at a time and see if you can boot and the system is working,
2. Download and run memtest to see if you got bad memory.

Can you tell me how much ram i can add to my laptop (toshiba satelite L30-101)

I don't know what a toshiba is, but if it has a windows operating system it will adjust the amount automatically. it stands for Random Access Memory and it requires just enough to run your system and programs installed. If it is too low Windows will adjust it automatically, if it's too high it will do the same. the RAM varies accordingly to each computer. If you go messing with that dude, RAM is going to be the least of your worries. Ha Ha.

I need to add RAM to my Toshiba Satellite M55-S3262 notebook, can I do this myself or do I need a authorized service technician?

If you can access the memory module by removing some of the screws at the back of your laptop, you can easily add RAM if there are vacant slots for another RAM in the RAM slot. Ideally, the RAM should be of the same memory capacity as the original RAM installed in your laptop. Just handle the RAM module at the edges so you don't damage the sensitive components. You can avoid this by discharging static electricity from your body by placing your hands on a grounded object.

Explorer 7 has screwed up my internet

You have a virus, this looks like one that is spyware based. These can be difficult to get rid of.
1. Download, install and Run CCleaner http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ - download latest version (upper right hand corner)
a. When you start to run it - check off EVERYTHING, ignore warnings - and run it till it comes up with 0 bytes removed (if possible) - Then run its registry cleaner.

2. Download, install and run SpyBot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html) - click on the 1st download on that page.

3. Then Download, install and run Adaware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

a. Make SURE you do NOT run at the same time - just one after another till you it is clean - it may (most likey) take more than one run through.

This MAY remove your problems - viruses and spyware once infected is very hard to tackle - and it is time comsuming, but it can be done.

Good Luck.
