Question about JVC GR-DX100EK Mini DV Digital Camcorder
JVC Mini Digital Camera GR-DVM5U about 10 years old. Was told the battery in question in built into the mother board. Don't know if this is true. The charging system no longer charges this up, so I can't set the date/time and therefore cannot transfer to my computer (Apple imovie).
I first noticed the problem developing when I had to hold the record button down for about 15 seconds before 'record' would kick in. Don't know if this is related, but suspect it is.
Can the clock battery be changed out or what can be done?

Some of these batteries are soldered onto the board because of vibration concerns. Yes the battery can be chaged. It incvolves takeing hte camera apart though. I would not suggest that you do this unless you have worked on cameras before.
As far as the record not happening right away... That is another problem not related to the bad battery. I would need to research that problem a bit before I comment too much.
Keep us posted.
