you dont need a Cd to install your wireless router. If you are looking for a CD , download the same from the routers site.
Or press the small reset button on the back of your router to reset the entire network, then connect the router to your laptop/desktop by a wired connection, navigate to your routes default webpage (details behind or benath the router) and then login and configure everything again.
Pick your revision that should be listed on the bottom of your router. You will have the ability to download the software cd again from the additional downloads section.
If you type ping 127.0.0.1 in your computer through command line, it will tell you if TCP/IP is installed correctly by responding back without a timeout.
Next, type tracert and a website address like google.ca or www.google.ca. The first address is what you need for the router.
Go on to the internet website and go through the setup wizard. If necessary, update the firmware from that website. Go from there.
hi,
it should be an ip conflict.I believe you are using both routers at same time which can give same ip address (as both routers ip range is same).hence by disconnecting one router(from network/power) will make your ip conflict resolved.
secondly there is no need of linksys installation cd as it will do more harm than good.routers dont need any software to run where as network adapters need drivers.if you have any further doubts ,you can directly post it.
thank you
I think the easiest thing would be to reset the router to default. There should be a reset hole on the back of router. This sets SSID to router manufacture name and ID and Password are set to "admin". Then it should just automaticly connect. You can then change SSID, ID and Passwoord. Connect to the internet with a browser and then reconnect the cables from modem to router to computer. Hopefully this will help or solve. Thanks..!!
