Got vista I've lost my sound? Leon

    Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions, I went into the sound area and disabled the unit as suggested, it disapeared and took me hours to work out how to get it back. And, it still didn't work.

I got the H.P. help software and that seems to have got corrupted as when I open the section it comes up with note pad and lines and lines of stuff. Also not one of my start-up files has gone loopy and now stops most of the others from loading.

    I'm in a bit of a mess

    Leon

1. goto system then device manager and check the hardware section then sound, video and game controller to see if realtek ac97 audio is active. If not active you have to disable it then enable again this is what I had to do to get vista to work on my 939 motherboard

2. If your sound driver is deleted then you can Go to Driverguide to download a replacement.

Lost sound

Fixed this common problem several times with vista updates.
Simply reinstall the drivers for your sound card, via the system properties console, click hardware, right click the sound system properties, and choose to find and reinstall drivers automatically.

Vista ultimate key

Assuming you can use your computer still in vista try the link i have provided below.

There are many programs for viewing the key while in windows so that you can write it down. Please be careful though as Microsoft looks down on these things.
