If you go ahead and format the hard drive, fromatting will lock out these bad sectors.
Bad sectors can indicate that the hard drive is wearing out especially if the number of bad sectors increase as you use the hard disk and if this is the case then back up your data regularly so you won't lose your data when this hard drives fail completely. I would consider retiring this hard drive ASAP.
Bad sectors are usually cause by the magnetic oxide layer on the platters wearing out or breaking down.

How do i format the kingston datatraveler 310 256 gb to ntfs file system

Hello insert the drive in the usb port.

When you see the drive in the control panel, right click on it and choose format.

Select NTFS in the selection box, and mark quick format and click start.

This could take a while.

You just have to save ALL the previous saved files, before you format, because the files will be lost, when the the drive is formatet.

Good luck

Not driver for windows 7 i need the driver and formatet it

> 20 GB

This is quite ancient. So, Windows 2000 and XP and Vista and 7 *ALREADY* have support for this disk-drive.

Click Start
Click Help
Search for "local disk management".
Follow the instructions to run that software.
Select the drive.
Select FORMAT.

Operating system not found

"operating system not found" ussually means that boot sector on the hard drive is bad or that the hard drive is bad. You need a diagnostic disk to check the drive. You can try running FDISK , option 4 to see if it sees the drive. If it does, it may be a matter of formattinting the drive.

Disk drive not found

It sounds like the hard drive went bad. Can you see the hard drive in the bios at all? When you try and boot the computer does it say drive not found? Try booting from the vista cd and see if you can start a new installation. If you can do the intallation the drive is ok. If not the hard drive is bad.
