Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

How do i download my photos from my i phone to my computer

If you're using a pc, a window should pop up when you plug your iphone in giving you several options. If it doesn't, go to "my computer" and you should see all your hard drives there. Your mobile device should show up there too. Double click on your apple iphone and keep clicking through the folders until you see a DCIM folder. In the DCIM folder you may have several folders with numbers and letters. These contain your photos. You can copy and paste your photos to a folder in your computer from there.

Download Photo from camera to computer

Once you have the camera plugged into the USB port it should install. You should get a windows pop up asking you what to do with it, one choice will be to download (this will bring up step by step instructions). If this does not pop up, double click on Computer, then the drive letter for the camera. There is a folder there called DCIM, double click on it. All your pictures should be in this folder. Select the first phone then scroll to the last photo, hold the shift key down and select the last photo. Now hold the control and C key down to copy. Open a new folder on the C drive and then hold the control and V key down for paste. You have now copied your photos to the computer.

Sometimes the DCIM folder is in a different folder (olympus may be that case), if so look for a folder called olympus or something like that, then look for the DCIM folder here.

Hope this helps

Video from Canon GL2 to my sony vaio windows vista and I already updated to zoombrowser EX 6.1

Suggestion: Remove the memory chip from the Canon and get a reader that plugs directly into your USB port on the vaio. Available online or at any computer shop or big box store. You should be able to open the photos directly from the chip. They'll be in a DCIM folder - you may have to easter-egg around a bit, or search for *.jpg

Lots faster and less frustrating than the camera's software interface.

Pics gone in DCIM folder. Using a Nikon s3000 coolpix camera, connected to computer, F:\s3000 is detected, within it is DCIM folder present, and within DCIM folder presents Nikon100 and Nikon101 folders,...

You cannot create new folders on an SD card and copy images to them, as the camera will not recognise them, since they were not create in the camera. Copy the entire contents of the card to a folder on your HDD, then format the card in the camera.

How do I download the photos from the camera to PC

Windows should retrieve them for you. Look at My Computer and see if there is a removable media present, the pictures are stored in a DCIM folder on your camera or removable media.

Cannot download video taken to windows pc

The videos taken should be in the same directory as the photos, but with a different extension. If you look at your memory card in windows explorer, the directory structure looks like "drive letter: \ DCIM \ 100SANYO \ SANY0001.JPG" or "drive letter: \ DCIM \ 100SANYO \ SANY0002.MP4"

The .MP4 files are the videos. You can copy them from that directory to somewhere on the computer where you can edit them or put them onto DVD.

Sony cyber-shot dsc-h2

hi,

Its simple..
After connecting USB to the laptop, a window will appear.
In that window, "select files to open".
It will open the DCIM.click and open the DCIM folder you wil find 101MSDCF folder.(for e.g.F:\DCIM\101MSDCF)
Select and delete all photos.

I did the same and i was able to get back memory.
I dont know whether its standard way of deleting photos from memory stick. Any support guys from sony camera can comment on it....

thanks

Memory card problems

what i did :
Tools>Folder Options...>View
i checked all options with title "display this and that kind of folders and files" and unchecked all "hide file" titles , and my real dcim folder appeared as transparent folder icon 100% usable.
if you already erased dcim.exe, try it anyway your folder should be there.

After copying your files from it format your memory card.
