Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
I recently had been online and apparently obtained a large amount of spyware on my computer. I have Symantec anitvirus and spyware remover. When i run Symantec, it says there are 2 "Adware" programs that have been quarantined and a reboot of my computer is required. After reboot, I scan again, and the problems are still there. Also, my microsoft automatic updates keep automatically shutting off because it says there may be a virus. In addition, there are certain websites that I frequently use that are no longer accessible to me (google, weather.com, facebook, myspace, yahoo). Other than that, my AIM instant messenger works fine and there is nothing wrong except for sluggish computer.
After running your antivirus, clear the virus vault, the reboot, and start the process over again, twice should do it. Also, go to filehip[po.com and download CCleaner and run it. It will help clean out excess build up of unnecessary **** (for lack of space to list all the items included) making your machine run faster and more efficiently. If you continue to have problems, the virus may have damaged the operating system, a system restore or reload will correct this. (Only after removing the virus) If you can't remove the virus, then it has damaged your antivirus software, many of the newer viruses go directly for the antivirus first, then the system. If this is the case the only way to be certain is to completely wipe the hard drive and reload the operating system.
