- I suspect i will break the handle just getting at the screws since mine is so tightly snapped on over the screw compartment, maybe it's better without a handle? it's double insulated so we can't burn our hands.... just looks so trail trashy with one i suspect. - cessnetFeb 17, 2009

- It looks like the outer part of the handle is snapped in place, with screws hold ing the handle to the carafe. On mine, the upper boss is broken and the lower one is loose.Anyone know where the snaps are to remove the outer handle cover?- gregg_hughes
