Hi... I have a week old GoGear MP3 player. It was playing fine till now. Yesterday, after transferring songs onto it (without software), i disconnected it. Now everytime i start it, it gets stuck on the start screen (showing the GoGear logo) and also shows a white patch in the corner with some hex code written on it. Now its stuck and i have to reset it (using a pin) in order to shut it down. The computer also does not detect it on connecting. What should i do...?
After trying to download songs for the first time, the screen said it was okay to unplug it. But now every time I turn it on, it says it's updating. But it keeps turning itself off after about a minute. If I leave it plugged into the computer it keeps restarting and uploading, but when it gets to the end it starts all over again. I've tried reseting it and pressing every button on it, but nothing seems to phase it or stop it or start it once it starts updating. After trying to download songs for the first time, the screen said it was okay to unplug it. Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

The Philips GoGear Micro Jukebox is a portable MP3 player that plays MP3 files and WMA files and also displays photos. Download music, copy it to the GoGear player and enjoy your tunes everywhere you go.
Things You'll Need:
* Philips GoGear and USB cable * Internet connection * Online music download service * Secure method of making online payments * Windows Media Player software
Download music in MP3 or WMA formats. You can buy songs from many online sources. If you choose to buy from iTunes, be aware that you will need to convert them from the native iTunes format to MP3 files. The iTunes software will do this for you.
Import the songs to your Windows Media Player Library if they are not already there. Windows Media Player can be set to check for new files in certain folders each time it launches, so this might happen automatically. . Connect the Philips GoGear device to your computer with the USB cable and click on the "Sync" tab in Windows Media Player. Drag songs you want to copy to the "Sync list" on the right-hand side of the Windows Media Player window.
Click on the "Start Sync" button at the bottom of the list pane when you have all of the songs on the list. You should be able to check at the top of the list pane to see how much space is available on your MP3 player in order to make sure you have enough room.
Wait while the files transfer and then disconnect the player from your computer. You may have to click on "Safely Remove Hardware" in your system tray (usually on the bottom right corner of the screen) depending on your computer.
Open Windows Media Player 11
Right-click a song on your computer that you want to change and select "Advanced Tag Editor"
Change the Genre
Now, you must delete the version of your song off your GoGear (the ones without the genre), and then resync the newly-edited song using Windows Media Player.
It is slow and painful, but you cannot make these edits once the song is already loaded onto the GoGear. Also, you cannot simply sync the newly-edited songs onto the GoGear once you are finished with the edits, without first deleting the song off the GoGear, because the GoGear would otherwise think, "Hey, this song is already on here, I'm going to ignore you now!"
Get the software from www.usasupport.philips.com - Use Windows Media Player to transfer and delte songs from your player. Older GoGear's (HDD models) require Windows Media Player 10. Most SA models are fine with Windows Media Player 11.
"File Format Not Supported" - SA6045/37
The file format not supported message means that the type of file you are trying to load into the GoGear is not compatible with the GoGear. There are no GoGear's that are compatible with iTunes. As far as WMA files are concerned, the GoGear's vary wildly. If the WMA file has a bit rate higher than 192 kbps (which is quite common nowadays), it will not work. If you actually have an SA6045, then make sure the license on the WMA file has "transfer rights," or that the license has not expired. You can check this by right-clicking on the song, selecting Properties, and looking at the tab that says "license" or "digital rights management."
If you find that you are using an incompatible format, convert the songs to mp3 format. If the songs came from CD, use Windows Media Player to re-rip the songs in Mp3 format. You can do this in Windows Media Player 11 by higlighting the "Rip" tab, pulling down the drop down-menu by clicking on the little tiny arrow that appears underneth the word "rip," and selecting "format", and then "mp3".
Good luck!

Try transferring with Windows Media Player instead - see if the GoGear icon appears on the left hand side of the WMP screen (while the GoGear isp lugged in). If it does, then you can transfer and delete songs through Windows Media Player.
The device itself is not faulty. This is Microsoft's fault, not Philips'. Some of the songs may have Digital Rights Management (DRM) encoding that the SA6025 will not support. You can right click on the trouble music file, select "Properties," and select the License or Digital Right tab - look for the msg: This file is not copyright protected. Find out if the songs that CAN'T be transferred have this message. If so, then click on acquire digital rights (or some variant of that phrase). If the files tha CAN'T be transferred DO have Digital rights protection, then you must save the files in a different format that is stripped of DRM encryption.
There are a few possible answers: 1)Start simple - disconnect the GoGear from the computer - let it update - then reconnect it to the computer; if this fails, restart your computer and try syncing again
2)You need a firmware upgrade to make the device compatible with your computer: just open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website; click on the update tab
3) The songs have Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection.Try re-downloading the songs without DRM protection.
4) The songs are in a format not recognized by the GoGear. The GoGear, for instance, will not take iTunes files b/c they are AAC format. With MP3 files, the player supports 32 –320kbps. With WMA: 5-192kbps with sampling rate 8.0kHz up to 44.1kHz. Right click the song file, and select "Save As", and then change the format of the song file. Or, redonwload, in the above-said format.
