I have a netzero dialup and when i try to establish a connection i get "dialing, redialing in 5 seconds, dialing..., unable to establish a connection" How do i establish a connection?

If you turn your sound up on the computer, do you hear a dial tone? Does it then begin dialing? If not you may have a bad modem. Try dialing the ISP's number with your phone, it should dial in and you should hear various beeps and so on, if not the ISP is down.

To connect internet on your computer with mobile phone,

1. You need a means of connection from your cell phone to your computer or laptop (inferred, bluetooth or data cable), a dialup connection, your proxey settings

steps to connect internet with mobile phone to PC.

Step 1:Take your gprs enabled cell phone and connect it to your computer or laptop using either bluetooth, inferred or a usb cable.

Step 2:Create a dial up connection.Go into yor control panel, then into internet options. Then go to connections and add.Create a dial up connection and when it asks for a phone number type in *99#

Step 3:On your new dialup connection add the same proxy address you have on your gprs in your cell phone.

Step 4:Now on your cpanel there should be something called modem options here you must change the APN to whatever your APN is on yor gprs in your phone.

Step 5:Go to start menu and connect, then connect to your dial up (make sure your cell phone is connected to your computer or laptop)

Step 6:Start your browser (internet exploxer, opera etc) and start surfing the net.

Hope it helped.

Thanks for using fixya...

How can I connect Compaq Presario 1266 to internet?

if you have ADSL connection, once you connect your computer to the modem, the internet should work right away given that the driver for your LAN is installed. if you're on dial-up, you need to coordinate with your phone company to configure the dialup connection, that is if they offer dialup internet service. hope it helps.

When trying to use Outlook Express 6, I get an "Error Message " stating "an error occured while establishing the dail up network connection AOL Dailer"

If you are using DialUp Internet Service from AOL, try establishing a connection first and the open Outlook Express.

If you have broadband (cable/dsl) internet service from another company, then your computer is incorrectly setup. In this case, open Control Panel, Internet Options, then click on the connections tab and delete all and any listed dialup connections or simply select the "Never dial a connection" option right under the dialup connections list box.

Also, if you are not using the AOL software, I'd recommend that you uninstall it completely to free lots of resources and speed up your computer as a result. For this, go into the Control Panel, add/remove programs and remove all AOL applications from the list.

Good luck!

Whenever iam making a call ihear a sound.the service to this number is currntly unavailable

When you talk about making a call, is it to connect the computer to the internet, using a dialup connection? I would call my internet provider, and confirm the telephone number, first. Then, if there are still problems, get their tech support to walk/talk you through your computer settings. I've done that so many times with various ISPs on so many different computers, after having similar problems.

Alternatively, If you have DSL service, do you have a FILTER connected between each outlet and a phone? Your ISP usually provides the filter, and it removes the digital signal used by the computer, so you can make normal voice calls.

DSL-2640U connect to internet but want to setup second dialup connection from pc

Sounds like you have high speed internet and also want a dialup connection as well. Maybe as a backup.
Anyway, your pc will need have a dialup modem installed in it.
If you already have one installed then you will also need a dialup ISP account. Some times an ISP will provide dialup in addition to broadband. Ask you ISP or call AOL.

Is there any way to increase download speed on my dialup connection? Phil

making sure you have the latest drivers for the dialup modem is about the most you can do. not sure if you've considered dsl or cable internet, but its cheaper than paying for dialup service and a phone line. (unless you don't have a cell phone and need the home phone line.)

Dropping Connection

All the LED except power should be flashing, that indicates traffic flow, power should be steady.

If all wired and wireless connections fail it is unlikely the router, more likely the cable/adsl modem that is dropping connection. Test by connecting a pc directly to the cable modem, watch for dropouts. If fails, contact your ISP service dept for line check and do a cable speed check from an online source.

Check also terms of service for the package you bought, many low end services restrict speeds below dialup if you go over your transfer limit. Multiple pcs playing online games use a lot of bandwidth. the speed restriction may put you below the threshhold for game server

Use a wired router for dial-up (NETZERO) connection..

You want to use a LAN with a router that uses a dial-up as a backbone internet connection for your LAN.
This is absolutely possible.

If you just want to share the connection that one computer has, and dont want to buy a router that has a built-in modem, try this

If you are running windows, There is a feature called Internet Connection Sharing (ICS.) It will share the dialup across the network.

Just 1 hookup the router and all the pcs to it. 2 Dialup the machine with the modem. 3 Enable ICS on that machine. 4 Youre LAN is online.

In XP, goto the network connections, and while you have 2 active connections in there (the dialup and the LAN port connected to the router), right click the dialup, goto properties. goto advanced tab, and click on enable ICS.
The other computers should be served IP's automatically and NAT'd out to the internet by the computer running ICS.

(The other computers should be automatically setup to the internet like they should be and connected to the dialup riunning on the ICS (host) computer)
