Hoover vacuum shuts off minutes

Check your bag or collection area and see if it is full or clogged.
low air flow may cause extra heat and temp override.
see if hose is clogged you can place hose over exhaust and feel air pressure.
a visual for hose if clogged would be that hose will bunch up.

Why is it my vacuum cleaner keeps shuting off after ten minutes. i have a Hoover wind tunnel uh70086

Sounds like it has an overheat problem and is shutting down to protect itself. Make sure the exhaust filter is clean and that there are no blockages. Hoover UH70086 WindTunnel Cyclonic Pet Rewind Plus Upright Vacuum Parts...

Uh70600 hoover keeps shutting off

Most vacuums contain a high temperature circuit that will shut off the motor if it gets to hot. Thoroughly clean or replace all filters so the machine can "breathe" easier and stay cool.

Re hoover 5914-900/the yellow ball keeps automatically sealing almost as soon as turned on/the mesh filter appears to be clear

Be sure to leave a gap of about 3/4 of an inch between the top of the filter, and the lid of the tank. Without this gap, the ball will shut off the suction prematurely.

The hose has a hole in it and the red ball keep shutting it off. Model F581-900 I have another Hoover SteamVac that is broken too. Where can I get these fixed, I live in Crown Point, IN. Thanks Valerie

I have a tube of Goop used to repair shoes. Using a rubber glove with a moist finger apply Goop (won't stick to glove then) over hole and allow to dry for 24 holes. Fixed my problem.

HOOVER WINDTUNNEL SELF PROPELLED OVERHEATING AND SHUTTING OFF

It sounds like it is overheating because of a blocked flow of air that keeps the motor cool. Check for a blockage from the area of the
roller brush through the hose to where it goes into the bag.

Dust etc collects in the filter above the dust container. The dust container remains empty. Hoover then over heats and cuts out. Collect in replaced new filters in Hoover but problem still remains.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. My question is how old is the Hoover vacuum? If it less than a year you should really see an Authorized Hoover vacuum cleaner dealer that the problem might be covered under a factory warranty. This should not be happening and it sound to me like there is a clog somewhere in the vacuum fill area that is causing it to do this to you and the vacuum. You are lucky that you have a thermal switch that does shut it off. If not and it is over the one year factory warranty then you should see a local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or contact Hoover Cust Serv @ the website and or phone 3 listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

U5180-910 vacuum shuts off on own

I had same problem. Turned out to be the filter that sits above the waste cannister. Remove the waste cannister. There is a little orange lever that releases the filter. It was caked with dirt not allowing any air flow causing the motor to overheat.

This foam filter gets dirty pretty fast.

Vacuum shuts off

It sounds like the hose from the bottom part is plugged. The motor has a high temperature protection that will shut the motor off if it overheats but will come back on once it cools. The motor will overheat if any restriction of airflow occurs. If the overload sensor reacts too many times, it will eventuall start to shut off before it should, so you should address the problem asap. Check the area behind the roller and the hose leading up to the connection to the attachment hose for blockage. Also, make sure you are not setting the machine height adjust too low. This will make the bottom plate sit down too close and cause a restriction in air flow to the motor.
